Celebrating the achievements of Black women!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

**Your company is restructuring. Now what?!** 😳

Budget cuts. Hiring freezes. Reorganizations. And suddenly everybody's wondering who's next.

Before you panic, here's some Fairygodmentor® advice:

**Don't let uncertainty make your career decisions for you.**

Get clear on the new priorities. Make your contributions visible. Ask better questions. And PLEASE don't confuse working yourself into the ground with job security!

You can't control every organizational decision, but you CAN control how strategically you respond.

In my BLACK ENTERPRISE column, I'm sharing how to navigate workplace restructuring without losing yourself in the process.

✨ **Move smartly, not fearfully.**

Growing up in the ’80s and ’90s, I experienced people struggling to believe that a Black girl could be smart. That she could be creative. That an original idea could belong to her.

And in 2026, we still celebrate the “first” Black woman or man to achieve things we should have had access to generations ago. I celebrate those achievements - and question why those barriers lasted so long.

When I was accused of plagiarism, that accusation carried something deeper for me: the assumption that I couldn’t possibly have thought of it myself.

Have you ever had someone look at your work, your talent, or your ideas and refuse to believe you were capable?

As Black and Brown women and men, we know what it feels like to have our abilities questioned before our work is even considered. When that happens, we need room to tell our stories - and people willing to stand with us.

This is one of mine.

This teaser is a glimpse of what’s coming on The Cost of Clarity. Full episodes launch November 11 on YouTube.

Follow The Cost of Clarity on Instagram, watch for our upcoming TikTok and YouTube channels, and share this with someone who knows what it feels like to be underestimated.

Like our videos. Tell your friends. And tell me: When have you had to defend an idea that was yours all along?

**Executive presence isn't about becoming somebody else. It's about owning who YOU are!** 👏🏾

Ever been told you need to demonstrate more "executive presence" without anyone explaining what that actually means? 🙄

Here's the thing. You don't need to change your personality, shrink yourself, or pretend to be someone you're not to command a room.

Trust me. I've built my career with a bald head, a loud laugh, and a bold attitude!

In my *Ask Your Fairygodmentor®* column for BLACK ENTERPRISE, I'm breaking down that mysterious leadership "IT factor" and how to develop it authentically.

✨ **Because leadership presence isn't about fitting a mold. It's about making an impact.**

Breast cancer cases worldwide are projected to surpass 3.5 million annually by 2050, up from 2.3 million in 2023.

New research reveals a troubling divide: breast cancer deaths rose 99% in the lowest-income countries between 1990 and 2023, while falling 30% in high-income nations. Black women also continue to face disproportionately high mortality rates, highlighting the urgent need for better screening, treatment and access to care.

A post-workout convo from me to you.

Me and my team need your help to reach our @happytosharefilm fundraising goal. Job loss has disproportionately affected black women and my film is my way of recognizing us in this aspect and will hopefully serve as inspiration that a traumatic job loss can be turned around.

Support our campaign so we can tell this important, timely story that tackles themes of #ageism and #sexism in the workplace.

If there’s been any good from losing my job at @google, it’s that it’s allowed me to express my creative voice and talents and become the #storyteller I’ve always been.

Why do we feel inferior in corporate America?

I’m excited to launch this conversation about identity, inferiority, and the ways white supremacy and white control can shape how people are seen, treated, and sometimes taught to see themselves.

It’s about examining how power creates hierarchies, whose presence is treated as the standard (the norm), and how those messages can affect each of us, our sense of belonging, our worth, and our self-worth.

I hope this conversation makes room for reflection and recognition, and sparks further conversation about how we can reshape the environments around us so they are rich in diversity.
