Second tune-up race: COMPLETE. 🏁🔥

Week 7 of 16. Members of the Sub-3 cohort took on District Running Collective’s District19 as the next checkpoint in their training block toward CIM.

Almost halfway through the training block, every workout, every long run, and every mile is building toward the goal. Tune-up races are an opportunity to put the work to the test, practice race-day execution, and see how far the cohort has come.

One race down, another in the books. More miles to go. The road to CIM continues. ⏱️

Big thank you to @districtrunningcollective for bringing the running community together and to @runcim262 for being the finish line we’re working toward.

Head to runjuneteenth.org/sub-3-initiative to learn more and follow the cohort’s journey to CIM.

Life has been so busy that I don’t get to document all of my training, but I had to memorialize this one 😆. Sunday we got caught in a downpour during our first of four 20+ milers for our @runcim262 build. Going to be a hard one but this is the block where lots of fitness is gained.

Weather was something else but the company was top tier.

Thanks @firstdreamthentrain for capturing this waterpark run!

Two Weeks Later…

DC Half weekend was event filled. Met and ran with a few folks from the cohort. It was my first “race” since August 2025. I was on my way to retirement! But here I am.

I’ll leave evidence of me running to the interwebs.
