💕 SISTERHOOD IS MORE THAN A WORD… IT’S A LIFELINE! 💕🌸🙏🏾

They say the strongest people need love, too. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned during some of the most challenging seasons of my life, it’s that even the strong one needs someone to lean on. 💗

To my beautiful sister-friend @drlfscott, THANK YOU! 🥹💕 Thank you for consistently checking on me, reaching out, speaking life into me, encouraging me, and reminding me that I wasn’t walking through those difficult moments alone. You may never fully understand how much your kindness, love, and genuine concern meant to me. A true reflection of God’s love for me. 🙏🏾

So often, we’re the ones pouring into everyone else, holding things together, showing up, and being strong. But who pours into the one who’s always pouring? Who checks on the one everyone assumes is okay?

YOU DID. And I will never forget that. ❤️

The NJBW Pink Brunch was such a beautiful reminder of what sisterhood should look and feel like — women uplifting women, celebrating one another, creating meaningful connections, and making space for us ALL to be seen, heard, loved, and supported.

And after THREE years, I’m finally ready to take that next step and become part of this organization! 💕 I’m excited to see what God has in store, where this journey leads, and how we can continue to grow, serve, and uplift one another.

Sisterhood isn’t just about showing up for the celebrations. It’s about showing up when life gets hard. And THAT is what makes it so special.

Thank you, my sister-friend, for lifting me up when I needed it most. I see you. I appreciate you. And I thank God for you! 🙏🏽💗

What a time! 💕 Despite the pouring rain and hour drive, I had a wonderful experience at the Pink Brunch hosted by @blackwomennj at @casadeflorabar

While I spend most of my time pouring into others, it’s also important that I put myself in rooms where I can be inspired.

And that’s exactly what happened.

When people walk in their purpose it’s so clear. Others are blessed.

I’m grateful for every woman in the room who showed up for herself…not just today, but every other day that created this moment.

Congresswoman @lamonica who represents New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District, is facing federal charges carrying the possibility of years in prison following the confrontation at Delaney Hall, where she was conducting congressional oversight and challenging the treatment of people in ICE custody….along with @mayorbaraka @repbonnie and @robmenendez4nj

This is also deeply personal to me. My entire family is from NJ-10. My grandfather and the late Congressman Donald Payne Sr. grew up together in Newark, New Jersey. Congressman Payne Sr. went on to represent this community in Congress, followed by his son, Congressman Donald Payne Jr. After Congressman Payne Jr. passed away in 2024, LaMonica McIver was elected to carry on the representation of NJ-10.

This congressional district and its legacy mean something to my family and to generations of families across Newark, Roselle, and the surrounding communities.

Now, Congresswoman McIver is being forced to spend enormous resources defending herself in federal court.

New Jersey, WE CANNOT SIT SILENT!

Regardless of what congressional district you live in, we must stand behind elected officials who exercise congressional oversight and demand accountability from our government.
