School’s OUT for Summer 📓👋💻 Last weekend, Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, The Bakery Atlanta hosted our first-ever Summer School for Artists, a two-day professional development intensive designed for emerging artists, cultural workers, and creative entrepreneurs. ☀️ @thebakeryatlanta Over 30 attendees packed in @thesupermarket.atl to invest in their creative practice. They walked away with the knowledge and new skills to take their creative practice to the next level. 🗣✍️ ~ 💙  Thank you to our amazing speakers and session leaders for sharing their knowledge with our artists @gfb3 @atlantalynne @_jilliantodd @nutellabrownbaby @katiecostadesign @in_stone_mountain @aslicreatescontent @sarahclawrence 💙  ⭐️ Thank you to the local art administrators and marketers for participating in our review panel and giving artists one-on-one feedback on their projects ~ @amandapn0_0 @monicaxcampana @samanthasingletonart @sarahclawrence @atlantalynne ⭐️ 🥐 Thank you to @peoplestowncoffee for the delicious pastries and coffee! ☕️ 📸 Thanks to @blakepipes for providing our artists with fun creative headshots; @pointofvou for snapping pics during the event; and @artcloud for the gift of measuring twice and creating once! 😎 📚 A HUGE thank you to The Community Corps. Thanks to a grant from @communitycorpsatl , we were able to experiment with this program, offer an affordable ticket price, AND accept 100% of our requests for subsidized and free tickets, removing a financial barrier for those who needed it. 📚  ~ Summer School for Artists was inspired by the need for practical business education beyond traditional art school. We brought together local professionals with expertise in finances, taxes, marketing, liability, copyright law, and more to share real-world knowledge through interactive sessions and hands-on learning. 🏫 We closed out the weekend with real-time document reviews, professional headshots, and a small reception! 📸🪩 Should we do this again? Would you or someone you know be interested in attending something similar? Let us know below 👇

EVERYONE join us in wishing a very happy birthday to the one and only @blakepipes . Blake wears many hats for the museum, a master of his skill. Blake seems to be immersed in magic when behind his camera and further in his element in the editing lab. Blake is a joy for everyone on the odd team, and besides a pleasant vibe has brought a lot more to the table. You can see his wonderful contributions daily. Thank you Blake, Happy birthday!
