Common Signal at MULTIfest, October 1 - 8, 2026

Presented by Noxte.app and curated by Sky Fine Foods, Common Signal is a modular projection and screen installation brings together works by Luc Palumbo, Ben Lappalainen, Quinn Hopkins, Evangeline Y Brooks, Emily Nicoll, and Emily Switzer. Six works loop and circulate across the installation, creating shifting encounters between artworks, screens, and audiences.

Extending Noxte.app’s approach to discovering, collecting, and curating digital art, the installation is fluid and evolving: A Ripple Effect, where works move between contexts and configurations, allowing images, ideas, and connections to reverberate across physical and digital space.

MULTIfest 2026 presents @noxte.art x @skyfinefoods , bringing six digital artists together in a modular projection and screen installation for << Ripple Effect >>.

✨What does it mean to build and work more intentionally, stay nimble, and retain agency over the tools and systems that shape creative work?✨

Join us for the closing showcase of Parallel Playground, a month-long residency exploring creative autonomy, technological infrastructure, and new ways of working across art and technology.

Residents will share projects, performances, experiments, research, and other outcomes developed through the residency.

The evening offers an informal space to encounter new work and exchange perspectives around AI, digital and material practices, situated technologies, storytelling, and creative infrastructure.

Parallel Playground is a collaboration between UKAI Projects and World Creation Studio.

This residency titled Parallel Playground, an initiative by UKAI Projects in partnership with World Creation Studio, asks how artists can work with current paradigms and technical systems without sacrificing creative autonomy. Rather than forcing artists to choose between polarized, fragmented options (or none), the program invites participants to experiment with lighter ways of making, sharing, and sustaining the networks that underpin their creative practice—approaches that reduce technical, material, or infrastructural overhead while keeping artists situated in what’s unfolding.

In Buddhist mandalas, millions grains of sand are meticulously arranged and charged with spiritual blessings, only to be ritually dismantled and returned to nature, restaging the impermanence of life. This cyclical understanding of time recalls Nietzsche’s eternal return and Vasari’s understanding of art as cycles of origin, flourishing, and decay.

To see the world in a grain of sand extends this philosophical lineage through works that live between the transient and the eternal, the toxic and the sublime, bringing together ancient cosmologies and futuristic visions.

Throughout July, we’ve brought together a group of artists, creative technologists, and researchers to explore the mechanisms and feelings of connecting previously-disconnected practices, tools, and data.

The freedom of the early internet, myth-making in the modern age, quantum entanglement, bee navigation, microplastics in lobsters, and more have made appearances across our discussions.
