khumbul’ekhaya, week 7: the city we’re actually looking for. 🧡

Over the past seven weeks, we’ve been asking what it means to live in the middle of a city like Midrand, with all its pressures, promises and distractions.

As we close this series, Pastor Blaque reminds us that God sees us. He sees the struggles we’re carrying and the pain points we find ourselves in. But He also sees when we turn away from Him, choosing to build lives around ourselves while forgetting the One we were always meant to return to.

And still, He calls us home.

Because home is more than a place. It’s found in His presence. And perhaps the city we’ve been searching for all along is not simply somewhere we can get to, but a life rooted in Him.

As we close Khumbul’ekhaya, the invitation remains: remember home.

Last week we had @vtj_masakona on the on seat talking the men (and women) we become when facing conflict.

Check out the episode and be sure to join us on the 7th of November where VTJ and Blaque and YOU will be on the mic figuring out how we can learn to fight without things turning ugly. It’s an open floor convo with everyone in the room so you definitely wanna be there! Visit our official website for tickets!

The Meet Up!

Men’s and Women’s Ministries came together for a day of fun.

Good food, games, and even better company!

A good time to connect, get to know each other and have fun.
Here’s a little recap on how we spent the day. It was definitely a good one.

Be sure to join us on the next One!!

We officially inducted our first Carriers at Church In The Middle!

We call them Carriers because being part of this community means more than having a place to attend on Sundays. It means carrying the presence, character, message and mission of Jesus into the world, in the way we live and the way we love people.

What started as a vision is becoming a community. People finding their place, committing to the journey and choosing to build something together, right here in the middle of life.

To our first Carriers, welcome to this next part of the journey. We’re grateful to be building this with you, and we can’t wait to see what God does through us together.
