Another lax tourney weekend loading!!! Saturday we’re at Copperplex for National Lax Fest 😈🥍🧡 Last night, we practiced under the lights and ended with a full field scrimmage. Our guest Coach Peyton Shreves, Michigan’s 2026 captain, got to jump in on the fun. The girls learned a lot from her and we loved having her (Thank you Coach Mia). We also celebrated Fiona’s birthday! We’re pumped and ready to take the field Saturday. We believe!!!! #blc2033orange #bettereveryday #lockedin

It’s Monday and we are back at it! We kick off the week with a lone wolf defensive session, followed up with a high rep offensive session. We had players from @gomadlax, @nextlevellax, & @blc_lacrosse come out to sharpen their blade and get ready for the next challenge. The leaves may continue to change, however, work ethic stays the same if you #swimwiththesharks.

The Fall winds maybe be blowing chilly, however, these boys are bringing too much heat at our Wednesday Clinics for them to notice. It was a great defensive and offensive session to help get through the midweek blues. We had players from @gomadlax, @blc_lacrosse, @novatruelacrosse, & @vlclax take the time to get better! As we move through autumn, the margin of error gets slimmer and you have to Fall back on the work you have put in. If you want to make sure that you have put in the work, then maybe it’s time you #swimwiththesharks.

I’ve spent most of my life being coached, coaching someone else’s kids, or watching someone coach mine.

And I don’t think I fully understood the trust involved in that middle one until I became a sports parent myself.

For so many years, families trusted me with a person who mattered more to them than anything. They let me challenge their kids, believe in them, hold them accountable, celebrate them and be part of some pretty important years of their lives.

Now I get to be on the other side of that.

I get to watch coaches invest in my kids. Teach them things I can’t. See things in them I might not see. Push them in ways they sometimes need from someone other than me.

It has made me even more grateful for every family who gave me that same opportunity.

And for all the coaches who did it for me first.

Happy National Coaches Day to the coaches who have been part of my story, the athletes and families who let me be part of theirs, and the coaches who are now becoming part of my kids’ stories. ❤️
