Bringing independent film to the local communities of Portrane and Donabate
18th-20th May 2026

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I think anyone who has known me for a long time, whether in real life or through following me online, will know that my online presence has always been a pretty honest reflection of who I am. Not perfectly, because no online space can ever hold the full complexity of a person, but probably 90% of what you see here is what my life genuinely looks and feels like.

Something that has also remained consistent for most of my life is that difficult things seem to happen with an exhausting regularity. Grief, instability, loss, barriers, systems that make survival harder than it should be, and the ongoing realities of living through multiple forms of marginalisation and oppression. It often feels like there is always something to navigate, recover from, or carry.

Politically, emotionally and personally, there are days when that reality weighs heavily. Days when it is difficult not to wonder whether this might simply be as good as life gets. Whether the constant effort is enough. Whether there is space for things to become easier, softer, or more secure.

At the same time, I keep trying. I try to act with honesty. I try to contribute where I can. I try to show up for my communities and the people around me. I try to focus on what is within my power, even when so much is not.

The last month has been incredibly busy, and in many ways deeply meaningful. There has been so much to be grateful for, alongside ongoing grief that has never really left. Both things can be true at once.

More than anything, I remain immensely grateful for every person whose path crosses mine. Every conversation, every act of care, every shared moment of solidarity, every friend, follower, organiser, supporter and community member. You have made difficult years more survivable than you probably realise.

I do not know what comes next. I do not know whether life gets easier. I hope it does. I hope there is still room for things to grow, heal and improve. For now, all I can do is continue trying, continue showing up, and continue being grateful for the people I get to share this life with.

Last week at the @bleedingpigff in Donabate/Portrane, I got to be part of something that genuinely meant a lot to me. So proud that the BOOBS documentary was included alongside so many powerful, thoughtful, and brave film projects, and even more grateful to have joined the panel afterwards to talk about how I became involved, and why this work matters so deeply to me.

We talked about how, in the middle of rising fascism and growing attacks on bodily autonomy, trans people, disabled people, queer people, fat people, and anyone who exists outside narrow expectations, body liberation has to go far beyond abortion rights alone. It’s also about access to healthcare without shame, freedom from diet culture, trans healthcare, disability justice, chronic illness being taken seriously, freedom from harassment and violence, the right to exist safely in public, and unlearning the constant policing of our bodies and identities.

As someone who lives with pain every day and still fights against negative body talk in my own head, being involved in a project like this feels incredibly personal. It reminded me how important it is to keep having these conversations out loud, honestly, imperfectly, and together.

Very lucky to have shared space with such amazing people and work ❤️
