POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sometimes you get to witness the dream while it's still becoming. 🥹✨💜

We had such a good time at Expanding the Archive & Reframing the South at the Mississippi Museum of Art—good art, good conversation, fashion, music, and most importantly, some GOOD PEOPLE. 🔥

But y'all know We Lit had a little moment listening to Bleu-Jean speak. 🥹

We've known Bleu-Jean through different seasons—as a poet who brought her words to A Night Out with Litty Kitty, through Reveal to Heal, as a stylist, creative, host, and somebody who has continued making room for ALL the different parts of who she is.

So hearing her talk about how just a few years ago she couldn't have imagined herself standing here, while also knowing this kind of creative work was always what she dreamed of doing?

WHEW. 💜

Because sometimes the dream shows up before you know exactly what to call it.

You just keep creating.
Keep showing up.
Keep saying yes to the parts of yourself that won't leave you alone. 😂
And one day you look around and realize—

wait…I'm doing the thing. 🥹

Seeing Bleu-Jean's work and voice represented in a space celebrating Black creators, stylists, performers and the artists of EXPOSURE felt like one of those full-circle moments.

And THAT'S part of why We Lit keeps showing up.

We don't only want to meet people when everybody knows their name.

We want to remember the open mic.
The first event.
The idea.
The experiment.
The “I don't know where this is going yet.”

And hopefully be somewhere in the room when they look around and realize how far it went. 🥹🔥

Bleu-Jean, we're excited for you. Keep becoming. Keep creating. Keep letting ALL of you take up space. 💜✨

And to everybody we got to hug, laugh with, reconnect with, meet, and experience this night alongside—this was a GOOD one.

The archive is still being written. 👀

Fashion inspo came from Dad. Always sharp. Mom's fem style + Dad's masculine flair. Discount clothes? Had to make them my own. Stand out, not blend in. #FashionInspo #Menswear #StyleJourney #PersonalStyle #FashionTips #OutfitInspiration #Styledaily

MEET BLEU-JEAN DREAM!🦋

OUR WONDERFUL HOST FOR LOVERS’ & FRIENDS’ SHOWCASE ❤️‍🔥

“Stylist, writer and creative director, bleu-jean, is our host for the third year in a row and she’s excited to set the tone for love and connection. She encourages everyone to wear their most seductive reds and enticing pinks to commemorate this special event. In her words, “Love in all forms is one of the most important aspects of life. Without it the sun doesn’t rise nor does the moon shine its brightest. Right now love is necessary to survive the times, so choose it”

Wanna tip the host?
Ask her for her cashapp 😉
