Tottenham ‘Till I die.

A pleasure to meet and spend time with some of the pillars of this community. It’s them who make the club and area what it is.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and made it possible.

Full project for New Balance's new signings: Yan Diomande, Yunus Musah and Djed Spence.
A casual take of before and after training, showcasing the grit and exhilaration of working as an athlete. Hard work and joy combined.

It’s better in print obv but here’s my dispatch from London’s old-school chess clubs for readers in the ether♟️🕰️🌐

As sultry, casual chess nights make a comeback and online chess booms, I documented the libraries, churches, cafes and community spaces that host hardcore, competitive chess clubs. Some have been doing so for centuries.

It felt special and rare to witness a subculture like this in London. A complete melting pot of people from all walks of life and ages — as young as 6 or 7 to as old as my granddad if he was still alive — sit across the board from one another. The gender mix is less balanced, but London’s women chess club is growing and growing.

Grateful to everyone who spoke to me for this! Including Richard of Streatham & Brixton Chess Club for the bittersweet compliment, noted down after I lost all my games :)

Read it here or in @blindfaith.studio alongside great writers and pieces on sport and obsession 🏆
