100 MILES. I DID THAT!

I’m over the freakin’ moon right now! Today I completed my first century ride (Amtrak Century) 100 miles from Irvine to San Diego!

I’ve been prepping for this ride for the last two months, and all that training paid off!

Great weather, an incredible route along the coast, and an even better group of guys to ride with made this one for the books.

Now, the reason why I’m pissed…

At mile 89, my Garmin died (it was at 100% this morning). At mile 94, my Apple Watch died… (it was at 100% this morning). How does that happen?

At that point, I was thinking, “Please don’t let me ride 100 miles and have NOTHING to show for it!”

Thankfully, our group stayed together, we finished the ride together, and we were able to share our stats on Strava. Because if I had lost that data after 100 miles… I would’ve cried! 😭

All jokes aside, this is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Before today, my longest ride was 70 miles. Today, I added another 30 and finished my first century.

And the crazy part?
I STILL HAD GAS IN THE TANK!

100 miles down. I’m already thinking about my next century.

Shoutout to @orangecountywheelmen This was a very organized ride with rest stops that were fully stocked and an abundance of nutrition and great volunteers. The end of ride meal and the train ride back to Irvine was everything. Hats off to you all!
