so as a lot of you might know, in the middle of 2023 i moved from sydney to london to pursue my master’s. i completed my course this september and suddenly realised i had never felt so lost - in my head, i would graduate with so much insight and enlightenment and wisdom with a fantastic job lined up and know exactly what i wanted in life, but my reality was far from that.

now i’m back home for six weeks, and i’ve spent the past month catching up with family, friends and old colleagues, and i think i’m beginning to find my purpose again. anyways, i’ve been reflecting on what a valuable year this has been, and trying to measure value in a way that is less tangible and more personal, because i have learnt and grown a lot, and the fact that my development has looked different to my peers does not discount it as stagnance.

anyways, in this spirit i am aiming to share more of my achievements and things that excite me and make me happy - here’s my 2024 highlight reel :)

Thrilled and proud that my monograph + exhibition publication ā€˜The Ascended’ won Best University Art Museum Exhibition Catalogue at the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand’s Art Writing and Publishing Awards this week.

We worked SO hard on this publication. Gracious and joyful thanks to the GUAM team, dear Angela Goddard for the foreword, Brian Fuata for the rousing and loving incantation, Lana Lopesi for the inimitable words of now and the future, Shuddhabrata Sengupta from Raqs Media Collective for bringing meaningful intersectional perspective, designer Michael Phillips, and of course, advocate and fortifying editor and curator Naomi Evans. Thank you also to my family and friends who have perpetually offered their stories, bodies, vulnerability, thoughts and time in the development of my arts practice and for this book.
