French self-taught binder
🫐 fanfic bookbinding when I feel like it

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Book binders, this ones for us. I just wanted to make a video to make people aware. I personally wont be binding any books that have this in as I wont risk breaking the copyright or being sued. I know I am a small account but you never know what the publishers feel about us redesigning covers etc. Ive tagged lots of binders and if you could tag more to spread the word then we could be helping lots of people reduce the risk of losing our lovely hobby/ businesses.
If I have interpreted wrong, fair enough but I just wanted to help just incase.

This is my version of Soft As It Began by rubbersoul02. I made this book as a birthday gift for @fee.loui. I found the 🍓 fabric for free and instantly knew I wanted to use it for this fic, so I based the whole design around the strawberries. I’m so grateful to @blueberrybindery for letting me use her beautiful typeset—it fits perfectly with the design! She also came up with the idea for how to use the strawberry fabric, since it wasn’t enough to cover the entire cover. The notebooks from @wainwrightbookbinding were the inspiration for it 😊
And as always: Don’t buy or sell fanfics!

Part One in my series of Binding Secret Weapons

A little while back, I asked some fellow binders what tool, material, tip, or trick that changed binding for them. They gave me so many great ideas.

Today’s post is dedicated to Equipment and Tools. Hopefully some of these will help other binders. And if you have any other tools you love, please share them in the comments!

Thanks so much to @blueberrybindery @jmbinding @the.nifty.niffler @thebinderwholived @floralbearies @wilddaisies_bindery @amtbindery @christiannaanderson @addiesbindery @amlworkshop @marinasslibrary @eggfriedpenguin @poppypressbindery @miightybinds @lennon_lauren @foryourthoughtsbindery @ad_astra_bindery @aurore.rose.malfoy.bindery @booksandbrooksbindery

My very first finished book bind! Soft As If Began by RubberSoul02 is one of my all time fav reads and I’m elated to have my own hand bound copy. I promise you don’t want to know all the mistakes and errors I made but I’m still very happy with how it turned out! Thank you @blueberrybindery for being so kind to share your typeset with me! The cover designs were created by myself in Canva 🐍🖤
(P.S. fanfiction is illegal to sell or profit from and this bind is for personal use only!)

I finally got around to digitizing it. Unfortunately the lovely shine of the gold is always lost but I really liked the way it scanned this time around, it almost looks metallic.

Thank you so much @artworks_by_rokii for all the amazing pictures! Both coverart and endpapers. 😍

Le 4e de couverture est réalisé par mes soins.

Dites moi si ça vous dit d'avoir les images du handbinding étape par étape?

À bientôt 📖
