To address homelessness, we must seek to better understand Baltimore’s homeless population. As of January 2023, this is the status of homelessness in Baltimore City. Follow us throughout the week to learn more about the people we serve and our mission to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring. The Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is a “snapshot” of the number of people experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness on a given night. The PIT Count is not a comprehensive look at homelessness, but it identifies challenges that people experiencing homelessness face, helps inform policy, and provides Baltimore City access to vital Federal and State homeless service resources. ➡ More information regarding Baltimore’s homeless population can be found in the 2023 PIT Count Report on our website, homeless.baltimorecity.gov. Please read “Beyond the PIT Count” on page 12 to learn about Baltimore City’s approach to prevent and end homelessness. —— #WorldHomelessDay #WorldHomelessnessDay #WorldHomelessnessWeek #HomelessnessIsSolvable #EndHomelessness
