We play and talk about games- happy gaming!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

At #OriginsGameFair @boardagaingames walked four of us through a game of Pilgrims: Curious Adventure a game from @pinktroubadour that Christopher's company @valor_mountain will be publishing.

This was a cozy order fulfillment game with very appealing artwork and characters from Radim Jurda who was also the designer of the game.

It features Splendor style engine building where each card you earn gives you abilities making it easier to earn future cards. It also has a unique grid based movement system using a selection of different types.

Playing well involved not only paying attention to the changing board state and planning ahead but also watching your opponents, predicting their moves and sometimes acting to prevent what they are trying to do.

It's on the lighter side which goes well with the friendly and inviting artwork and theme.

One of the things I love about the Board Game Community are the friends you make along the way, from all over the place. It seems no matter where you are, or where you go, you can find someone in the community to play some games and have a fun time.

Like this week, when your friend @boardagaingames reaches out and says, “I’ll be in Pittsburgh!” of course it means, let’s find a game shop and play a game! We stopped over at Fabricator’s Forge, played Quebec (coming out at GenCon!) and got stomped by Soren - and had a wonderful evening! I was more than happy to just break away for a few hours from graduate work and teaching prep!

Thank you to all of my guests for the fun interviews, and all the folks I connected with for the first time over the week both again and for the first time. Sorry if I missed some of you or just forgot to snap pictures of us together. I was super duper busy. Hope everyone got home safe, and I can't wait to see you all again soon! Now enjoy this riff I recorded the other day.

Happy 40th birthday Chris @boardagaingames ! You're the best roommate a guy could've basked for. Spending that week with you at Gen Con staying up late playing games and chatting was like a week long sleepover. Hope I'm like you at 40 & I can't wait to see you again!

Final day of GenCon. It was an amazing experience. An excellent time all around seeing new faces or seeing familiar faces for the first time and of course playing tons of games. I hope everyone has a safe trip home and I can't wait to see y'all next year or even sooner. And a special thank you to @kolossalgames for having me. Can't wait for 2023. #gencon
