LE JEU(DI) : 7 Wonders Architects chez @reposproduction
.

.
⏱5mins-plein de minutes
👥2-6 humains
⚙️Jeu de plis coopératif
.

Y a déjà joué ?

After my first few plays of Photosynthesis, I have been struck by the elegance of the game; both for the visual presentation as well as the simplicity of the rules. The game is gorgeous to look at, and it’s fascinating to watch the forest grow and morph during the course of the game.

Players: 2-4
Ages: 8+
Time: 45-60 minutes
Rating: 9/10

----

In Photosynthesis, each player controls a different type of tree, all of which compete for the life-giving (and point-scoring) power of the sun’s rays. They will use this power to seed and grow new trees, eventually gaining victory points for taking their trees through their entire life-cycle.

Each round of Photosynthesis is divided into two phases, the Photosynthesis Phase and the Life Cycle Phase. During the Photosynthesis phase, the sun will move to a different segment of the board. Any trees which are in a direct line from the sun (and not shaded by other trees) gathers light points for the player who controls it.

A tree is considered to be in shadow, and therefore will not gain light points, if there is another tree between it and the sun, with the exception of the fact that trees cannot be shadowed by trees shorter than themselves.

Which brings us neatly to the second phase, the Life Cycle phase. In it, players will take turns spending their light points to seed new trees around the board, as well as grow those seeds into new trees.

Once a tree has grown to the third, mightiest size, the whole ‘circle of life’ process can be enacted, clearing the space it once occupied.

Sushi Go!

When it comes to card games, one of my absolute favorite mechanics is card drafting. I think it’s the feeling of anticipation when a new hand is passed to me each round. I don’t know exactly what cards will be in there, but I find myself always filled with hope that it will be one of the cards I need. It’s this kind of build up each round that helps keep the game exciting and fresh.

---

Sushi Go! is a card drafting and set collection game for 2-5 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Sushi Go! plays best with 4-5 players. For ages 8+.

Game Overview:
Sushi Go! is played over the course of 3 rounds. Each round, players are dealt out a number of cards to begin with. They simultaneously select one card and play it. Afterwards, the remaining cards in their hand are passed to a neighbor. The cards played will give players various amounts of points at the end of the round based on how well they did with their set collection. At the end of the 3rd round, the player with the most points is the winner.

This is a frog. Do you believe me? Inexpensive, fast pace card bluffing game.

Rating: 6.7/10
Cockroach Poker (2004)
2-6 players
Age: 6+
Our playing time: 15 minutes
Designer: Jacques Zeimet
Artists: Rolf Vogt
Publisher: Drei Magier Spiele

Cockroach Poker (Kakerlaken Poker in German) is a reverse set collection game which is all about bluffing. There are 8 copies of 8 types of different insects 🪳🐭🐸🦇🦂🪲🕷️🪰 and the goal of the game is to force another player to collect 4 of one type of insect or make them run out of cards.

On your turn you simply pass a card face down from your hand across the table to another player stating which of the 8 insects the card is. The player can accept the card and guess if the passing player's statement is true or false. If they guess correctly, the card is returned face up to stay in front of the player who passed it. If they were wrong they receive the card face up in front of them.

Alternatively, the player receiving the card can choose to pass the card on, they then peek at the card and choose another player to pass it to. They can either say the same as the original player or choose a different insect and the process continues.

This game is all about bluffing and tricking your opponents which results in lots of laughter and sometimes frustration depending on how well you can read the other players. We played the two player variant, but think that it works much better at higher player counts.

🤔 Imagine - Something as small as a virus, that you can't even see, managed to grab humanity's attention globally in a way that nothing else has till now. And we feel that oneness all the more because we're connected to one another via social media like never before. The novel coronavirus brought the world organizations, scientific institutions and governments together in a very novel way !

🎲 We will soon be sharing our inspirations behind various tiles in the game along with stories of people coming together and building this rich community experience and making a difference.

❓Do you see that ? Last year around this time we hit the 10,000 total cases mark. And today, as this is being written, we reported close to 1,45,000 cases in just the last 24 hours.

Hmm..

➡️ What has changed ? We were way more cautious and alarmed at hitting 10k than today. That is of course because we're informed, we've learnt what works for us. But, this is no time to let the guard down.

😷 Let's -
✓Stick to the basics like wearing masks, washing hands etc
✓Focus on what appeals to our scientific and logical mind
✓Not jump to conclusions and reactions out of panic and fear. Bizarre Battle 2020
