The Art of Bob Goldstein @bob__goldstein
https://www.kailinart.com/news/the-art-of-tj-reese-stan-clark-bob-goldstein

Artist, educator, and distinguished professor of biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bob Goldstein occupies a fascinating intersection between art and science. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, microscopic structures, organic forms, and scientific inquiry, Goldstein transforms observation into compelling visual narratives. Working primarily in printmaking, he combines layered imagery, intricate textures, and unexpected juxtapositions to reveal the beauty, complexity, and sometimes absurdity of the world around us. His work often incorporates a subtle sense of humor, inviting viewers to reconsider familiar ideas through an imaginative new lens.

For VIBRANCY at KAI LIN ART, Goldstein presents four works that illuminate the creative possibilities found at the crossroads of scientific discovery and artistic expression. His practice reminds us that the act of looking closely—whether through a microscope or through the eyes of an artist—can reveal extraordinary worlds hiding in plain sight. In Goldstein’s hands, vibrancy becomes more than an exploration of color and form; it is an expression of curiosity, interconnectedness, and the boundless wonder of being alive.

So grateful to be included in this sweet little group show featuring a handful of @peel_gallery artists at @mentbevco in Durham.

What a homey little scene they created. Stop by, grab a beverage, and check it out thru Nov 18th.

My painting, PAUSE, is currently unframed, but my recent collectors have been asking for frames in their preferred color. I'm happy to whip out the saw and do it up. 💛

Sharing space with so many wonderful local artists. Everyone is tagged in the pics. 💛

VIBRANCY

Vibrancy takes many forms. It lives in the quiet restraint of black and white, in the bold clarity of two-tone contrast, and in the layered energy of multicolored works. This group exhibition brings together painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, graphite and charcoal, lenticulars, and wood work — a conversation across mediums where illustrative color meets contemplative portraiture, and stillness sits beside intensity.

Featuring work by:
Cameron Bliss · Stan Clark · Hannah Adair · Bob Goldstein · Demetri Burke · Lauren Lesley · TJ Reese · Gino Castellanos · Kiara Gilbert · Christa Collins · Patrick Heagney · Kaneesha Brownlee · Matthew Sugarman

Join us for the opening reception on September 18th, and return October 24th for an artist talk exploring the ideas, materials, and moments behind the work.

In 2020 @lindsaymetivier had a show at @lump_raleigh and it was great. Right here I’m taking her picture and telling her she needs to make a book. Maybe you can join my pop up chorus and get loud. Please comment on why she needs to make her book. It’s just silly at this point, right? Maybe tell her which your favorite image is. Raise your hand if you’re ready to back her Kickstarter? Tagging some folks who I know she lifted up that might want to join this chorus
