Nothing is guaranteed on safari; however, at Kaziranga National Park in North-eastern India, I had my fingers and toes crossed that we would get to view these prehistoric-looking rhinos. Not only did we see several adult rhinos, but we were blessed with this little calf, who had the zoomies at times and even put on a show and had a little suckle.

The greater one-horned rhino was almost hunted to extinction, but thanks to conservation efforts, there are now almost 4000 rhinos across India and Nepal.

This ornate flying snake gave a whole new meaning to the word flying when it flew (or fell!) onto a fellow traveller’s shoulders in the jeep in front of us.

I was glad to be in the jeep behind, where I could appreciate its beauty from afar. I love snakes, but I’m not sure how I would’ve felt if one had dropped onto me!

Lambalamba coalition!
A single male lion is a powerful and strong predator but a lion coalition is an unstoppable powerful force.
Normally, young males reach about 2-3yrs age, are pushed out of their birth prides by a dominant adults, where they become nomadic kind of lifestyle. These buds quickly realize that survival alone is a numbers of game they likely to lose. To survive, they form tight alliances known as coalitions. Mostly are formed by brothers and cousins who leave the pride together. Always they test each other strength.
Lambalamba coalition is one of the upcoming strong coalition in Ngorongoro-Southern Serengeti area. As the way you see them there walking majestically no one can dare them!

Credit to @bobbyjosafaris for the nice photos and @kope_lion for taking good care of these guys through their monitoring activities they are doing and the government institutions and other stakeholders @africanparksnetwork @lionlandscapes @lionrecovery @wizarayamaliasilinautalii

Back home and straight back into it.

The editing begins. Thousands of images from the past few months, from time in the field with KopeLion, Conservation South Luangwa and Zambian Carnivore Programme, to the incredible safaris I have been lucky enough to host.

I upgraded and simplified the workspace to make it a little easier on myself, but the reality is most nights look like this. Two to three hours in front of the screen after a full day of work.

I have the attention span of a goldfish when it comes to editing, so honestly it can feel like torture some nights 🤣

But this part matters. This is where the stories come to life.

This moment is from the southern Serengeti plains while working alongside the KopeLion team. Quiet, raw and exactly why I keep doing this.

It’s not always glamorous, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Zebras said “wait your turn” 🦓😅
Wildebeests gave us a grand farewell… and just like that, Ngorongoro left us speechless.
From crater magic to endless plains — next stop, the iconic Serengeti National Park 🔥
A quick pause at Olduvai Gorge… where history meets adventure, then straight into the wild.
This is not just a safari… it’s a story you live. 🌍✨
