Mixed Apparatus: Tower, Wunda Chair, Electric Chair & Barrel 🤎
There’s something special about starting the day with movement.
This morning’s 7:30am mixed apparatus session took me beyond the reformer and onto the Tower, Wunda Chair, Electric Chair and Barrel, with each piece of equipment challenging me in a completely different way.
The Tower felt incredible for opening up my spine and creating length through the body. The Wunda Chair demanded concentration, precision and control, especially during the standing work and teaser practice. I also had my first experience on the Electric Chair, where we focused on external rotation of the hips, and finishing the session with stretches on the Barrel was exactly what my body needed, especially for my tight hamstrings.
One of the things I’m most grateful for is the opportunity to learn @jamesshawpilates 🤎and learning from @trevor_schoonraad 🤎has been incredible so far! As a teacher, I believe it’s so important to remain a student. Learning from experienced teachers, receiving their guidance, and having a space dedicated to self-practice has been invaluable. Every session leaves me with a deeper appreciation for the Pilates method and inspires me to continue learning 🙇‍♀️.
After class, I headed to Fred Bakery with a notebook full of observations to review my notes, prepare for upcoming teaching sessions, and continue studying. The learning doesn’t stop when the class ends.
To top it all off, my Level 3 Pilates in Pregnancy course with @bodycontrolpilates materials arrived today, and I’m so excited to begin this next chapter of study and continue expanding the ways I can support women through movement.
Good teachers never stop being students. ✨
🤍 Grateful for the practice.
🤍 Grateful for the learning.
🤍 Grateful for the journey.

I must admit I am a bit obsessed with bones! Bone health is absolutely vital. I wish more people understood that they needed to work on their bone health in their 20s 30s and 40s so their bones are beautifully dense and strong for their 50s 60s 70s and beyond. Using resistance as in bands or weights or even your own body weight will help to build bone density at any age but the denser your bones are when you are 40 the better it will be for your future self

Today I presented a talk on the benefits of both nutrition and exercise in Osteoporosis clients.
As mentioned in the talk, if you can find out your bone density when you are younger (dexa scan - discount code in bio) you can take proactive measures to improve it if necessary. Pilates, weight training and Green leafy veggies are my top tips…

I started incorporating yoga into my routine and honestly, it just made sense alongside Pilates. 🤍
I’m also working towards eventually qualifying as a yoga teacher myself, which makes this journey even more special.
For me, Pilates and yoga are the ultimate marriage — they complement each other so beautifully. Pilates builds strength, control and stability, while yoga brings mobility, flexibility, balance and that much-needed mind-body connection.
As women, I think having both in your routine can be so powerful. Stronger, more mobile, better posture, improved balance, less tension and a little more calm in a busy world.
You really don’t have to choose one or the other.
Pilates + yoga. The ultimate marriage. Never getting divorced. 🖤 #womenshealth

Reflecting on an amazing Saturday at #DW33 @bodycontrolpilates

Being the Pilates nerd that I am I absolutely loved being immersed in all things Pilates for a day 🤓💕

The lectures, the classes, the shopping (looking at you @34pilatesavenue 👀) and being in rooms full of other inspiring Pilates teachers.

The more I learn about Pilates the more I realise how much left I have to learn but thankfully I am surrounded by the best teachers and the best clients all who make this journey so much fun 🤩

What a busy and enjoyable weekend at the Body Control Pilates Development Weekend.

I delivered two workshops, one on strength training on the reformer and another looking at Pilates traditions through a modern lens. I also taught a mindful movement class.

It was lovely to be back in the UK and able to attend events like this again. I enjoyed catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and sharing ideas with other teachers.

A fantastic event organised by the Body Control Pilates team. I’m already looking forward to next year.
