DIML // DAY OFF EDITION : like most chefs I try to give myself 2 days off a week but sometimes weekend functions mean I end up working more. So this video was taken midweek, nothing glam but definitely a real day off when all I want to do is pretty much nothing 😂 #diml #dayoff #food #privatechef #privatecheflife #cooking #chef #foodstagram #brownies #pilates #gym #shopping #walk #dog

| NO NEW YEAR,NEW ME. JUST DO THE WORK NOW |

From the outset, let me clarify. I do indeed love the brimming optimism and clean slate that comes with the New Year. I do actually set goals about what I want to achieve for the year and look to the new year with positivity and good vibes. But, I don’t love inauthentic trope that comes along with this sound bite. It doesn’t take a new year to rollover in order for you to set goals and achievements for yourself. And if you don’t set those goals of changing your life for the better at the onset of the new year, is that year a failure? Can you now not change what you want to achieve?
Not at all!
Be open to changing what doesn’t work at any point in your life. Set the goals you want to achieve throughout your year and update them and adapt them however and whenever you like.
But stay consistent. Stay focused. Start now. Start today and continue the good habits into every day, month and year!
Start 2024 by continuing the good habits of 2023, and build from there!

|Supine Glute Bridge|
4 things to be aware of when performing or instructing the supine glute bridge.
1. If the non-working leg is bent with the foot closer to the glutes the more it becomes a sagittal plane, not transverse plane movement.

2. The closer the working foot is to the glutes the more the glutes fire instead of the hamstrings.

3. Kinaesthetic sense - The dowel rod placed between knee and shoulder helps shape the client to determine the actual vs perceived trunk-hip-knee alignment
4. The glute bridge can be a great way to assess the dynamic interplay between glutes and erectors. The more arched your low back becomes during the lift, the more involved the lumbar erectors become. The flatter your low back becomes during the onset of the lift, the greater the glute contribution. 👉 Keep an eye out for my next video which determines how to assess the interplay between glutes and erectors during the glute bridge. 🕺
