POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Three years ago, the hip-hop community lost a legend once again...

On September 17, Vladimir Decastro aka DJ Basic @budski33 left us at just 50 years old...

I then offered to pay tribute to him with a mixtape featuring the LGA style, including classics from Basic and B-ryan, as well as some of my own digs that are close to the LGA style.

I want to thank DJ Bryan @brzathegenius , bboy Born @bornoner and Bofresco @bofresco , as members of the same Basic crews (CSB LGA), immensely for allowing me to realize this project, which was very dear to me as a bboy who trained hard on his mixtapes with insanely fast breaks lol 🤣🤣🤣 and also as a digger and break DJ.

I'm not your mixing skills, guys, haha, but the important thing is that the project came to fruition.

Indeed, I've had a lot of changes in my life these past few years that caused the project to be delayed so much, and I apologize for that.

I also want to thank @floorlordsboston Floorlords Crew El Nino @bboyelnino and Lino (aka Leanskee)@leanskee_flc ,as well as Quincy @qkongillville from Bashville Stampede @bashvillestampede615 , for their support on this project.

Born created this magnificent artwork for the mixtape cover with very meaningful lines; thank you so much, brother.

Finally, I want to thank my wife who supports me in all my projects, even mixing xD

I also want to thank those who were in the know for their encouragement to release the project.

And, all the people involved in this project, whose shout-outs you'll find on the tape.

Special thanks for
@slowznguyen
@djwreckxofficial
@tyquanmzk
@teknyc
@bboysnap
@ali_acuna
@ferozbboy
@iamprevail

Long live music, long live the diggers !

B-ryan, we miss your mixtapes, we're still waiting 😜

Basic, rest in peace!

Enjoy!

Peace

DJ BASIC! Happy B-BOY DAY in heaven my brother. Before I knew Paten, before I ever made a single song, I was inspired by YOU and your mastery of all elements in Hip hop. 🫡

Chief Rocka Base used to come spin the epic ‘Soul Cypher’ breaking jam in Gainesville when I was in school and we became fast friends. Basic was the first one to play my 1st vinyl on the Skill Center Radio show that the almighty ASAMOV crew hosted, where Paten heard me for the first time - and he dissed me lol.🙏

From the records, to the fashion, to the STYLE, Bud was a true anomaly and repped Duval and Filipino culture to the UTMOST. ‘Playdutshet’ in heaven my Kuya. Love you bro. 🇵🇭🍏

Lemme do you a favor - go to SoundCloud and listen to all his #NeverForgiveAction mixes to liven up your day. Trust. 🤘

Happy Heavenly Birthday to DJ BASIC aka Chief Rocker Base Boogaloo - world class ambassador to B-Boy culture & Hip hop, straight outta DUVAL. Master of records. Master of ceremonies. The Air Max king. Little Green Apples. Main Ingredients crew. Asamov. The AB’s. We miss you BASE. 🖤🇵🇭🍏

**This song ‘Almost’ on The Smile Rays ‘Smilin on You’ album was the last proper ASAMOV feature on record.

A few clips from the Jacksonville ‘Rations’ Release party this past Saturday. 👀

Supreme shouts to everyone who made it out + The Walrus for hosting + Kenski on the wheels + Jay Myztroh (w/ Steam Mechanics) + Willie Evans Jr. and of course Asha Locke and her band GILT. They tore it down! 🤘

A FULL PLATE FAMILY affair indeed. The Lockes were in the building and Paten was raining (reining) down.☔️

PS - if anyone out there has clips or pics from the show please send ‘em over here. 🙏📸

Still buzzin from Saturday’s ‘Rations’ release party in Jacksonville. Forever grateful to everyone in attendance, my FULL PLATE comrades and of course the Locke Family.🖤🔒🍽️

Willie Evans Jr. & Jay Myztroh (w/ Steam Mechanics) each did their things majorly of course but can we talk about Asha and GILT?! They absolutely SLAYED. Such a special night, I know P would have been so proud. It was even raining - Paten’s favorite. ☔️

Huge thanks to The Walrus for hosting. FULL PLATE FOREVER. Asamov ‘til the pinebox. DUUUUVAL! 🍽️⚰️
