For the fifth year, I’m throwing a party on my wedding anniversary. Not exactly how I imagined spending October 25 when I said “I do,” but here we are.

And because apparently the universe has a flair for emotional damage, October 25 falls on a Sunday this year. The same day of the week Bryan and I got married.

So there’s that.

Every year, Make Waves gives me a way to turn my grief into gratitude. Somewhere along the way, a day that could have been defined entirely by loss became a day I genuinely look forward to.

Not because I miss Bryan any less. But because I get to celebrate the life we had and the people who continue to show up.

This year, we’re also honoring Emily Warren, a friend of mine who passed away from this horrible disease in July.

Emily was deeply loved by so many people I love, and while I hate that glioblastoma is something our families and friends now have in common, I’m grateful we get to bring everyone together to celebrate her and Bryan.

I wish there weren’t more names to honor. More families navigating this kind of loss. More people who understand just how cruel this cancer is.

But there are. And that’s why we keep making waves.

Because this cancer needs a cure.

So on Sunday, October 25, we’re getting together at @eastbowerciderco to celebrate Bryan and Emily, raise money for @glioblastomaresearch and have a really freaking good time doing it!!

We’ve got @harrysraleigh , @boldbatchcreamery, Make Waves merch, and hopefully a whole lot of people ready to show up for a really meaningful cause.

You don’t have to have known Bryan or Emily. You don’t have to have experienced this kind of loss.

Just come hang with us. Bring your friends. Bring your kids. Come hungry. Stay awhile.

Because grief and gratitude can coexist. So can missing someone terribly and having the absolute best time celebrating them.

📅 Sunday, October 25 | 5–9 PM

Come hang. Make waves. 🤍🌊

Fall market season is officially here, babes. 🍂

Our Unhinged Fall Market is happening THIS SATURDAY, September 26 from 9 AM–2 PM and we’ve got a morning full of local makers, small businesses, coffee, shopping, and general fall mischief waiting for you.

And because apparently we believe in giving the people what they want… @boldbatchcreamery is BACK serving ice cream again from 11am-3pm. Yes, coffee and ice cream before noon is a perfectly reasonable Saturday decision!

See you Saturday! 🍦☕️🍁

It’s time to SAVE THE DATE for our 2nd annual community market! Join us on October 17th from 12-4 PM for outdoor yoga, flash tats, local vendors, ice cream, live DJ & so much more.

The day will kickoff with a 60-minute donation based Slow Power class led by @flowithannah_ . Head to our bio to sign up, this filled up FAST last year.

Want another movement option? @the.bike.library will be leading a group ride that’ll head out at 1 PM. Keep an eye out for more details!

Then stick around after class to shop some of your favorite Raleigh makers and give back to the Homebody community.

We’ll close out the day with a 30 minute mellow yoga session! Sign ups for this one coming SOON.

All vendors are donating a portion of their proceeds to our yoga scholarship fund, One More Page. So not only are you supporting local businesses and artists, you’re also helping to make yoga a more accessible part of our downtown Raleigh community.

Vendors include:
