Following the U.S. attack and bombing of Venezuela in early 2026, a Venezuelan director activates a telematic device to intervene in the body of a North American performer. Taking Humberto Costantini’s poem (“Yanquis hijos de puta”) as a score, the piece operates as a transatlantic interrogation and a scenic forensics on guilt and immunity. Masticar el rezo inhabits the radical discomfort of the North-South asymmetry, dismantles technological distance, and transforms the safe space of a theater into a real-time census of survivors, all to ask: What happens when history demands that you hate and you do not want to sustain it? Tomando como partitura el poema de Humberto Costantini (“Yanquis hijos de puta”), la pieza opera como un interrogatorio transatlántico y un peritaje escénico sobre la culpa y la inmunidad. Masticar el rezo habita la incomodidad radical de la asimetría norte-sur, desmonta la distancia tecnológica y transforma el espacio seguro de una sala de teatro en un censo de sobrevivientes en tiempo real, todo para preguntar: ¿Qué pasa cuando la historia te exige odiar y no quieres sostenerlo? LAST 2 BRAIN CELLS A simple, strange idea became a duet. The duet became a world. And somehow, that world took us from New York to Berlin. Over the last year, we’ve poured ourselves into every corner of this work: building its movement language, crafting its costumes, refining its rhythm, and returning to the studio again and again to ask what else this little universe could become. It’s been a labor of obsession, trust, curiosity, and play. And out of this work, JUJUNANA was born. Last month we had the privilege of performing the work in Berlin, alongside local collective, Boneless Light Berlin, after sharing it with audiences across New York City. We don’t take that for granted. The fact that something we imagined together has carried us across an ocean is both surreal and deeply affirming. Making art can feel like shouting into the void, so every audience that has laughed, leaned in, connected with the work, or shared kind words has helped remind us why we keep doing it. This project has fed us creatively in ways we never expected, and we’re incredibly grateful for the generous reception this piece has received, and for everyone who has made space for it along the way. We feel incredibly lucky that our art continues to carry us into new places, new communities, and new conversations. We’re currently looking for opportunities to present the full-length work in NYC and across the States. If you know of any festivals, presenters, or venues that might be a good fit, or if you’d like to bring this work into your space, we’d love to connect. Here’s to Last 2 Brain Cells, an unhinged idea that’s only just beginning. Cheers to JUJUNANA and wherever we decide to wander next. ❤️

Banquete Caribe @bonelesslight_berlin Choreography: @naiaurresti Performers: Beatrice Collevecchio, Laura DeAngelis, Jazlyn Goldsworthy,Tea Nadir, Anna Strusi Original Music: @nuwanliss Banquete Caribe, by Venezuelan choreographer Naia Urresti, offers a counterpoint rooted in Latin American thought and embodied ritual. Inspired by the writings of Alejo Carpentier and Oswald de Andrade, the piece explores chaos as a source of vitality rather than decay. Through movement, rhythm, and collective presence, the performers inhabit instability as a creative force where identities overlap, structures dissolve, and new forms emerge. The body becomes a territory of resistence, contradiction, and revelation.
