Banquete Caribe, by Venezuelan choreographer Naia Urresti, offers a counterpoint rooted in Latin American thought and embodied ritual. Inspired by the writings of Alejo Carpentier and Oswald de Andrade, the piece explores chaos as a source of vitality rather than decay. Through movement, rhythm, and collective presence, the performers inhabit instability as a creative force where identities overlap, structures dissolve, and new forms emerge. A community evening of dance, performance, ritual catharsis and celebration

Presented by Boneless Light Berlin, Not-So-Midsommer is your desperately needed space to cry out your exhaustion at the conditions we live under and burn any reminders of what has been heavy on your heart.

The performance will conclude with an installation structure burning in flames. Bring your ex's letters, mail from the Finanzamt, and a transcript of that humiliatingly heartfelt mesage you drafted in your notes app. And any other reminders of your burnout and exhaustion! It's time to set it all on fire.

Not-So-Midsommer will feature two performances from New York and Berlin based artists, video installation work, and beloved DJ sets to dance out your emotions.

BANQUETE CARIBE

Inspirándose en las obras de Alejo Carpentier, José Lezama Lima, José Ignacio Cabrujas y Oswald de Andrade, leídas a través de la historia de la coreógrafa, nacida y criada en Venezuela, la pieza explora el caos como fuente de vitalidad, más que de decadencia. Transitando entre el ritmo, la danza, la violencia y la alegría, las intérpretes habitan la inestabilidad como fuerza creativa: un espacio donde las identidades se superponen, las estructuras se disuelven y emergen nuevas formas. Visual, ruidosa y expansiva, la obra oscila entre la tensión externa, lo inesperado y el disfrute, proponiendo un rito contemporáneo que mezcla danzas y ritmos latinoamericanos —como la salsa y los tambores afrovenezolanos— no como representación folclórica, sino como material físico que organiza el tiempo, la historia y la relación entre los cuerpos. Una oda a Caracas y a su caos caribeño donde el cuerpo existe como territorio de resistencia, contradicción, encuentro y revelación.

What you don’t see behind the scenes? The hours of rehearsal time. The hours of production and budget work that doesn’t feel art related at all. The sleepless nights when our ideas come to us and passion and creativity flow. The beautiful community and team we are building around us that make all of this possible…

The road bumps and obstacles, the tears and moments of “we can’t keep going”. But we still do. Call it determination, call it stubbornness…

Next weekend we will perform our two newest group works of 2026 and we are so excited to share them with you with all of our hearts and souls
