We get asked this A LOT! 👀

Ever wondered why our subframe is grey? 🛠️ Here’s why we do things differently and what goes into building a deck that lasts.

We’re thrilled to finally introduce something we have been keeping under wraps for the last few months. This marks the start of an exciting new series tracking our renovation of a once-award-winning home.

After being abandoned for a number of years and having endured termite damage on a scale we have never seen. This home is now ready to be brought back to life, the Skinner Build way.

Follow along to see exactly how we go about transforming a home of this condition.

MORPHETTVILLE TREX DECK

Stoked with how this one came together for some great clients. The deck was designed for easy flow throughout the backyard, including a ramp through to the BBQ area and a comfortable step down towards the pool.

Finished in Trex Select Whiskey Barrel, featuring SunComfortable™ heat mitigating technology, a 35 year limited residential warranty and a commercial grade P5 slip rating.

Recent Golden Grove pool deck.

This was a fun one, working through multiple angles, curves and varying heights, but super stoked with how it all came together. The breaker boards and picture frame borders really help the whole deck flow, with the palm tree seamlessly integrated into the finished design.

With the low clearances and chlorinated pool water to contend with, we opted for an @lowdeck_h4 subframe, along with 316 stainless steel fixings and hardware throughout. This one was built to last.

Finished with @ekodeck_ Designer Series in Leatherwood

All the detail is in the finish, and the finish was all in the planning. Starts with the curve, then lining up every board of American oak so there’s not a seam out of place.
