Another amazing Kingsday… they say 3rd time’s the charm! Huge thank you to @junglejuice.records for inviting me back and making the trip possible 🇳🇱🧡

Had the best time playing to a PACKED @yellowhouse.amsterdam - as you can see enjoyed playing 2 big killers from our next @discotheque_tropicale release (keep an eye out for that 👀). And the b2b with the @sentinelislanddisco guys was super fun… their set was awesome too!

I’ve been online friends with @bongobarns & @coco.disco for years! As fellow tropical music nerds that are deep in the game - they heavily inspired us @discotheque_tropicale so was a nice full circle moment to share some lovely music together 🌴

After the gig we went to a crazy afterparty run by doppelgänger @riktan_ - rarely do you see bouncers on the door of a house party!

B4b with the sentinel guys & @arammukanay was wicked - nothing like shelling out some hot, sweaty 140+ bpm rai trance, funana, gumbe & bubbling bangers 🔥

Also had a great time and another fantastic meal @cornerstore.ams …and on kingsday b2b with my friend @toonkuijsters @dameaandekade - always lovely to play this kind of music with people that really share the same taste!

After this headed straight to @lofi.amsterdam to catch @hunchmusic - he never disappoints and delivered an awesome set. Cherry on the cake was hearing him mix in one of the edits from my upcoming @love.connection_djs release as I walked into the venue - Can’t wait to put on my dancing shoes and catch the holy trinity at Gala in a couple weeks! 💃

Defo another one for the books - thank you Amsterdam! 🌷

Peter Humphrey 🐎

Born in Grenada, he began his musical journey deeply influenced by the rhythms and traditions of the island. With his most notable contributions “Miss Daisy (Doh Come so Fast)” and “Sweet Grenada” both being hommages to the vibrant culture and rhythms of his home, he quickly became a significant figure in the soca music of Grenada and the broader Caribbean region.

On the A side of SOCA JAMS he is featured with “Soca Fire”, a raw, stripped-down soca rendition of the stonecold electro hip-hop classic “The Roof is On Fire”.

Image Band! 💿

In the late '70s, several young musicians from the Caribbean and the Washington area came together to form the Image Band. What started as a high-school project (Young Image), later turned into a horn-powered 10- to 12-piece ensemble that's still joyously playing and partying after all these years.

Featuring 2 songs on SOCA JAMS, one on each side. On the party side you will find their hard to resist invitation to party that is called "Soca Party". On the soul side you will find the deeply emotional "Don't Give Up".

This Friday Canvas will be turned into the fictional island of the Sentinelese, where a tropical wave of musical charm awaits us. Because on Sentinel Island, the inhabitants seem to have eccentric party rituals, channeling pulsating percussive rhythms with ecstatic disco chants. If you want to know what that looks like, you’ll have to dock at Sentinel Island this friday.

Big ballroom disco vibes last Friday in Leiden! Mad respect for the @discotuin crew for making this happen and so lucky to have absolute legends @red_greg and @djrobmanga hype up the crowd before us. All it took was some Gloria Gaynor and Sylvester to top things off reall nice.
