It’s gonna take some time for me to reflect properly on my photo exhibit yesterday. Let’s just say it was quite a success and left a lot of people (me included) with big emotions. 💖🙏🥹📸🐶

💖🥹 Do we have the cutest first in-person (or should we say in-dog) customer EVER??? 🙏🐶

We know Maya from way back when she was stuck in the shelter. Thanks to her angel of a mom (@booked4joy) for saving this girl and bringing her to @misfitmakermarket to see us! 🙏💖💚

My lil Etsy shop’s first market, ya’ll. 💖💚🙏🛍️🐶 I actually had friends show up and support me. How wonderful! 🥹🥹🥹

If you’re not following @pitsandchiswhiz, plz check it out and rectify that for ya girl ASAP! I do this to make stuff that spreads love for #shelterdogs and then give back some of the $ to animal rescues in need.

Have you signed up for this webinar yet? 🔥 Deeply grateful for my dear friend, Nicole Smith (@booked4joy) and @americawalks for hosting it.

Over the years, I (@jstallz) have learned to be more and more unapologetic about the need for safe, accessible & comfortable pedestrian 👩🏿‍🦽👩🏽‍🦼🧑🏻‍🦯🚶‍♀️🌎 budgets, plans, leadership & systems NOW (not in 100 years). DE-centering personal cars isn’t just about making room for sidewalks. It is about ALL of the benefits listed in the graphic below and much more. We ALL need to move (at whatever pace) more the way we are made to. Period. We ALL need to honor and protect the lived experience of those who walk/roll/bus as their primary form of transportation. Period.

🗣️🗣️🗣️ Whether you are in elected leadership, working inside transportation systems, or advocating outside of systems, we all need to push NEW edges around HOW 👏 we 👏 actually 👏 disrupt 👏 personal-car-everything systems/thinking.

I don’t have all the answers for this, but I believe we need utmost creativity (spoken word performance, youth leadership, activism & protest, hyping-up the benefits, hosting numerous lived experience events, amplifying public health impact, maximizing IRL human connection, nature/climate urgency, storytelling, music, artwork, and more) around HOW we speak on and HOW we bring NEW people into advocating for it.

🗣️🗣️🗣️ Join us on May 24th at 2:00 pm ET for a meaningful conversation about some of my story, why this work is so important to me, and creative ideas for inspiring more walk/roll/bus activity in your community.
