✨📚 BOOKS EVERYONE SHOULD READ AT LEAST ONCE! Now, I know reading is subjective, and what’s a masterpiece to one person might be a DNF for another. But if I could convince everyone to give these five books a chance, I absolutely would! 📖 The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien 📖 Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb 📖 East of Eden by John Steinbeck 📖 Pachinko by Min Jin Lee 📖 Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry These books couldn’t be more different, but they all have a special place in my heart. Whether it’s their unforgettable characters, beautiful storytelling, or the way they explore the human experience, each one has left a lasting impression on me. Some broke my heart, some made me reflect on life, and others reminded me why I fell in love with reading in the first place. A little bookish challenge courtesy of @booksandbasilisks! [October Stack] Mashup - fall vibes 🍂 that spell this month QOTD: what is a bookish thing you changed your mind about recently? The skies have very much embraced the season as of late. Overcast and moody. Swinging between petulant and and the lingering embrace of summer. Couldn't be more pleased. Yesterday was so wonderful I read an entire historical romance between audible and my physical copy as the activities of the day dictated. Such a good time. I love those mass market paperback novels I am learning. Favorite Pokemon Stack QOTD: Were you team pokemon as a kid? Or team yugioh? Or both? I saw this stack over at @steeleboundbooks and @readsbyrew and had to give it a go myself 🙌 If I would have free pick I'd choose Piplup here, as it has been my first Pokemon starter ever, but sadly I dont own any plushie of that, so I went with my second choice of Charmander, which is such a cool pokemon in my opinion as well 😍🔥 It is so nostalgic to me to think of Pokemon Perl and Platin which I played back in the day and the love has stayed with me ever since. This time I'm early 🥳 Its time for an October Stack 🙌 QOTD: How was it literally May yesterday when its now October? Its crazy to me how fast that year went by again. I feel like I now get how the "adults" told me a few years back that I'm gonna miss my college and study time because it will be the best and slowest time tha I'll ever had. I think I'm at a point now where I am that adult 😅 (27 going 40). On the flipside its finally October now, which once the worlds biggest dr*g festival (my fellow germans will get this one) is finally over in the city, I might actually want to leave the house again 😅 And then its gonna be proper fall with changing leaves, survivable temperatures and wearing hoodies again. 🍂 🍁 Happy First Day of Autumn 🍂 🍁 September 22nd, the legend you are 🫡 QotD: if you could reread a fall book or do an autumnal activity for the first time again, what would you choose? I’m looking forward to reading outside more which I haven’t done much in the past because I get distracted, but lately I’ve been different 😌 I read outside yesterday with my hoodie up and read 30 pages of Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook. I’d also love to watch Gilmore Girls for the first time again, although the beauty of that show is the seemingly never ending well of references that many I still don’t understand to this day 🍂 Anyways, I’ll be reading THE KNAVE AND THE MOON soon and then NINTH HOUSE 🙌 so excited for those reads and can’t wait to dive into the autumn spirit head on, skull cracked a fracture, brains oozing oogly boogly. Chunky Bookstack ✨️ The incredible @_chapter35 recently tagged me in this one so I decided I'd give it a go 🙌 i tried to only include one book per series so that its not only Malazan and Stormlight QOTD: Do you also feel mad sometimes that reading a 1000 page book does only count for one towards your reading goal? 😆 Does anyone do reading goals woth pages instead of books? I love chunky books. I love that there is so much space for worldbuilding, tensioj build-up and just lore in general. Sometimes it can also feel like work though I feel. I remeber that in 2023 when I got back into reading I was looking for my first fantasy series to start and researched extensive fantasy series with a deep world-building and plot and what did I land on? Malazan. Yes, Malazan was my first venture into fantasy in my adult life because stupid me thought "the more complex the better" 😂 Loved it tho, even if it takes me like more than a month to finish a single one of them.
