A little recap of all the craziness that was @bookcon 📖📚✨ It’s the first time I’ve ever been to a book-specific event of this scale and I want to say I had a decent time despite all the things!

Was I exhausted and hungry? Yes. Were the crowds crazy? Yes. Did I get to see book friends and meet new ones? Also yes! So I think that + meeting my favorite authors made up for most of it 🥹🫶🏼 I’ll potentially (likely) be back next year 📚

And to think, there’s still merch I couldn’t fit in this photo 🙈 A more detailed (and prettier) post is in the works, but I couldn’t wait any longer to show you at least SOME of the goodies. All of the books here (with exception of The Sirens) were purchased and signed from incredible authors located in Indie Alley, including an additional book en route from indie author @andreaandersenauthor who sold out her first day!

Every single author was so gracious and kind, and so excited to talk to us about their work, this is what BookCon was ultimately all about ❤️ when else was I going to be able to tell @elise.kova that the cliffhanger at the end of Arcana Academy was criminal?? And when else was she going to tell me that as a gift to us, she made book 2’s cliffhanger even worse??! 😫 or vibe at @ojunea.brown booth with her awesome playlist and beautiful display?? Or fangirl with @unhingedbooktalk and @bookishdrifter over One Dark Window?? That’s what a convention is at its heart - a place to connect with others who love and appreciate the same things and I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to purchase a ticket and be in the same room as them.

highlights from five months 🍕
•he is obsessed with his kitties🥹 every morning i get him out of his bassinet to snuggle with me, Luna cuddles up next to us & he reaches out to pet her🐈‍⬛
Stella demands to get her pets from her tiny human when we start our day on his mat🤭
•he loves grabbing his feet & staring at his toe beans…like these are amazing mom, wait what you have them too?!😆
•both of his uncles came to visit & he got so much quality time with them! during uncle J’s college tour we snuck in a few hours to meet up with amy & uncle pat🤭
•we went on a side quest to get his passport & the office took arguably one of the cutest ID pictures ever!
•he got to meet tía em & lets just say their energies are so matched😆🫶
•Jordan had a daddy/son weekend while i was at Romantasy Book Con! it was the first time i’ve been away from Dorian, it was an amazing packed weekend! i connected with so many people & authors over books and motherhood! having @elise.kova walk by as i was dumping my breastmilk into a trash can was a *moment* until she told me ‘i’ve been there’! our impromptu talk turned into a signing! i was upset at first when i realized i was holding my pumps in our pic but now i love it 🥹
•little man & i went on our 1st solo trip to the parks! he slept almost the whole time but it was great to get that nervousness of trying that for the first time out of my system! he doesn’t get to participate in DCA’s Food & Wine Festival this year but his lemon outfit from auntie chrystal was so freakin cute 🍋
•dorian has been scooting backwards for a couple weeks & recently started doing planks like they are such a mundane task 😅
•this month’s breastfeeding adventure was getting him to stop clamping onto me & pulling away😵‍💫
•Jordan started reading his illustrated copy of The Princess Bride at story time 📖
•he tried his 1st solid food today! the last picture gives a perfect play by play of his feelings about the green stuff that is not mom’s milk 👀🥑🤔🤣

february highlights 💘🌶️📚🐉✨
•we spent the day before our dating anni with our friends in Disneyland! then went out to dinner on our 9th anniversary with our lil guy🥹
•we got to see one of my best friends marry his dream girl & we all had a good cry during their vows🥹🥲💕
•while we were up north we got to stay with my sissy & she hosted the CUTEST galentine’s day party🥹💖
she definitely takes after our mom with being a top notch hostess✨
•i spent valentines day with my two favorite boys! Jordan took a page out of @jrcathers amazing book wrapping of her special edition to learn how to wrap my books!🥹👏
•we had a screamin good time celebrating Chi’s bday🥹 she loves a cat theme so Dorian was ‘Kitty’ 🤭
•tía Em came to stay with us in socal to meet lil man & they were so freakin cute together 😭 my heart got the reset & tlc it needed after not seeing her for so long🫶
•we went on a day trip down to SD so Jordan could go with his youngest brother on a college tour🥹
meanwhile…Dorian & i snuck in some time with two of my favorite people before meeting back up with the guys later🥰
•i read so many amazing books last month! my favorites were The Wren in the Holly Library, The Robin on the Oak Throne, Child of Shivay, and We Who Will Die! I also read The Last One, The Cruel Dawn, & Wuthering Heights! I ended up needing to audiobook WH because it was pretty slow & nowhere near as incredible as the other worlds i was reading😅
•Jordan is nearing the end of Kingdom of Ash & was so unwell after reading a certain battle chapter😭🕯️
•Romantasy Book Con was amazing! i met some incredible authors & got 22 of 23 of my books signed! i spent the weekend with two of my besties & got to meet so many cool women!😭👏
•meeting @kaylsmoon in my Ophelia cosplay from her book Phantasma, was one of my favorite moments! i was so excited to tell her how much i loved her books then about fell over when i saw her Howl’s Moving Castle corset😭👏
•i had so much fun sewing together the parts of my spicy Maleficent cosplay for the Dragons & Diadems Ball! 🤭😈🖤

mistress of all evil 😈🖤

maleficent has been on my disney cosplay list for so long! i wanted to create a spicy maleficent for the Romantasy Book Con Ball when i found out the theme was dragons & diadems! i diyed most of the cosplay by using the bones of a high low skirt & corset! i hemmed part of my skirt cause you know *short girlie problems* then sewed on the purple & black tulle and finally sewed on the wings of a dragon figurine to the corset! it was such a fun night & the perfect way to end a freakin awesome weekend! @fabledfantasyevents really knows how to throw an event and ball❤️‍🔥

Sunday Shoutout ✨️

I have never really done one of these before so and I thought it would be fun to highlight some of my favourite accounts I follow on here 🙌🏼

Some of these have been with me from the start, hyping me up, inspiring me, giving top notch book recommendations, both in physical form and audio form, and in general being some of the kindest and funniest souls on here. You are all my book besties, whether you like it or not 🫶🏼

On another note, me and the fam just arrived to a cosy cottage in the more northern parts of my county where we'll stay for whole next week with another family with two kids!
