What drink pairs with your current read?

@camillataipalvesiauthors tagged me forever ago in a Coffe and current read, but taking this pic took me so long it isn‘t even my current read anymore.

I first saw ORIENTING: AN INDIAN IN JAPAN on the page of @aa_cozynooks and thought it would scratch my itch for an interesting nonfiction book, even if I already knew a lot about Japan. And I have to say I love Indian nonfics. While both are in Asia I never saw much overlap between Japan and India. However Pallavi Aiyar explains the relationship between both countries masterfull and also adds China to the trio (a country she herself live in). The writing is lively, personal while also being extremly educational. The topics span from food, history over politics, sanitary and language. I espacially liked the many inclusions of haiku poetry.

While this might be best matched with matcha or even a Chai, I went for a white tea hibiscus drink for this.

Which drink fits your current or last read?

Dear Utah…

I don’t even know how to say goodbye. The last four years have completely changed my life. My Utah era was all about growth and shedding things I thought everyone expected of me. I found a community of people who saw me and loved me for it. I made the most incredible friends who I can’t imagine not having in my life! You’re all stuck with me forever just so you know🤪
I had lost myself in the roles I play and Utah helped me find myself again. You haven’t seen the last of me! I’ll be back!

If anyone here ever ends up in Utah, you’re so lucky because you’re joining a book community that’s unlike anything else!!

Such a fun galentines get together this weekend hosted by @atemarcelareads__ all the cutest details from bookmarks (that she freaking made!) to a trope soda bar. We painted book edges, which was so fun because most of us had never tried it before. I had such a great time getting to know people I’ve been chatting online with about books! Love these girls and laughed so much! I am so excited for the next get together. 🖤

10/10 recommend getting together with the girls for a Galentines Edge Painting Party 💕 it was so nice finally meeting the people I talk to pretty much everyday 🤣

I did learn that edge painting is so damn stressful and not a relaxing hobby for me 🤣 will not be attempting again hahah I’m to much of a perfectionist for this lmao I will be sticking to my coloring books.

🖤 Galentine's Edge Painting Party🖤
°
@atemarcelareads__ threw the FUNNEST Galentine's party where we learned how to paint book edges! My first butterfly was not so perfect.. let's just say it was leaking Quicksilver 😂 but then I figured out what to do. Not too bad for my first time. 🙌🏻 I wish I would have gotten photos with more friends. 😬
°
Thank you Marcela, for all your planning and hard work to bring us together to have a night of painting, yummy snacks/treats/drinks, and lots of laughs! 🫶🏻

⁉️Did you attend a Galentine's Party this year? What was your favorite part? If not, what's your favorite trait of your BFF? ☺️
