Indie Author Spotlight 🦉🗺️🏔️

The first two books of the Mhorelia series (The Ascent and The Greatest Threat) by @cwak777

When I created my Bookstagram page, I expected to mostly just share photos of my collection and find new books to add to my never-ending TBR. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect all of the friendships and connections I’ve made along the way. I certainly didn’t expect to be having conversations with authors, let alone becoming friends with some of them.

Christopher has been one of those people and has been one of the kindest and coolest individuals I’ve met on here. When he’s not working as an engineer during his 9-5, he’s writing screenplays and the Mhorelia series.

If that wasn’t cool enough, he was also kind enough to include @boundfortheshelf in the acknowledgements of The Greatest Threat! Seeing my Bookstagram account printed inside an actual book is something I never expected when I started this page, and it truly means more to me than I can ever say. Thank you so much for including me, Christopher! 🥹

The Mhorelia series follows John Atwater, an engineer and Army veteran, whose business trip to Scotland takes a very unexpected turn when he finds himself in the fantasy world of Mhorelia. From there, he’s thrown into an adventure with new friends, dangerous enemies, and plenty of surprises along the way.

The Ascent has been sitting near the top of my TBR for a while now, and with The Greatest Threat officially joining the collection, I finally started it this weekend! I’m really enjoying it so far, especially since the story begins on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, where my family and I visited last year. Definitely a cool coincidence getting to read about somewhere I’ve actually been! I included a couple photos from our trip to help set the vibe. 📸

🍸☕️ Whether it’s coffee, cocktails, or a cold beer, one thing is always guaranteed when I meet up with my favorite Bookstagram friends: the conversations are unmatched. 📚✨

Over the last 5 years, this little corner of the internet has brought some truly incredible people into my life — from chatting in DMs about books we loved (or loved to hate 👀) to becoming real-life friends. Booksta has been such a gift, and I’m grateful for every connection made along the way.

So… what are we ordering while we talk books? 🍸☕📖

🖤Here are a few of my favorite accounts and what we’d be cheersing to. Highly recommend giving these peeps a follow!🖤

Just a reader and some childhood books that shaped who he is as a reader AND as a human in the world today. As young readers, we take so much from the stories we immersed ourselves in. And they shape us in many ways.

❓What is a childhood series that shaped you❓

I’m so happy to share just a few of mine! 🥰 Two of these series I need to read in full as they kept releasing after my younger years and I’d love to get the full story!

Tagging just a few friends to take part in this but feel free to join in if you feel so inclined 🥰🥰

Happy Tuesday!

🐉 Welcome to Epheria 🐉

When @bookreviewdrew said they were going to starting read @ryancahillauthor Of Blood and Fire, you just know I just had to jump at the chance for a buddy read 📚

Diving back into The Bound and the Broken reminded me just how much I love this series. Honestly, the best part this time round has been experiencing it through someone else’s eyes ⚔️

Watching them travel through this world, get to know the characters, and see those moments for first time has been such a joy 🤩

Massive thank you to @tbbpublishing for completing my ARC collection also!

What colour of ARC is your favourite? 💙💚🖤🧡
