classic lit tag 🏛️
— all-time favourites — need to finish — already read — to be read (soon) —

💌 who is your favourite classics author?

thanks to @pages_amour for the tag! 🤍

— first classic i read: i think it must’ve been a shortened version of ‘oliver twist’ by charles dickens when i was in primary school! either that or ‘peter pan’ by j. m. barrie 💫

— last classic i read: i’m currently making turtle progress with ‘the count of monte cristo’ but am still nowhere near to finishing it, so it’ll be a re-read of ‘brave new world’ when i was writing my dissertation on it 🧠

— favourite classic author: probably tolstoy, dickens & austen or huxley for modern classics 💐

— favourite modern classic (1900+): ‘brave new world’! i firmly believe everyone should read & thoroughly analyse this book, it’s eerily similar to our strange little modern times! 🌀

— least favourite classic: ‘robinson crusoe’ lol, that guy was bo-ring! ‘the great gatsby’ also seemed like a drag, though i loved the latest screen adaptation 🫣

— most anticipated classic: ‘the count of monte cristo’, ‘emma’ & ‘white nights’ 💔

— classics everyone should read: apart from ‘brave new world’ i highly recommend ‘anna karenina’ - even 10 years after reading this brick of a book for high school finals i can’t stop thinking about it & want to re-read so badly 🚂

i’ve tagged a few but there’s absolutely no pressure to participate, i know classics are not everyone’s cup of tea 🥰

swords for sunday ⚔️
THANK YOU FOR THE TAG @literarytillie

Choose your fantasy! 🗡️

Revenge Plot of Epic Fantasy? *
I truly love both but I find Epic Fantasy so much more enriching. Revenge plots seem to always lead to the same predictable character development so I will be choosing epic fantasy for the win this time

A weapon of choice? ⚔️•
I’m gonna have to go with dual swords.. if you can’t tell I played Tomb Raider a lot as a kid, dual anything is the win for me 😭

Modern or Older times•
OLDER INSTANTLY. As much as dystopia is something im obsessed with, i prefer medieval setting as im a huge mythical creatures fan. Anything legendary, im up for it.. especially dragons.

Evil King or Power Hungry Rebellion•
Absolutely every book I have loved has a power hungry rebellion. As much as I love an Evil King, I believe the only books that could sway me would be Brandon Sanderson. But for now, I’ll always choose Power Hungry Rebellions for rough change and the fight for justice.

Dragon or Powers•
I’ve been sat with this question for too long. Preferably, both and intertwined but im going to have to run with powers overall. I’d kill to have some abilities.

A series, trilogy or Standalone?•
I’m obsessed with series. I need a long, readable series to sit and cry to and beg for more. Trilogies seem too quick for me and duologies have fallen short for me unfortunately. If you have any recs to change my mind though? I wouldn’t complain 👀

I LOVE THIS TREND SO MUCH. If you’re not tagged, DO IT STILL. The questions are so fun to answer and think of 💕
