POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I tried to squeeze another one in before the end of the day but it’s not gonna happen. 13 is way too many. I have 4 books with all around 200 pages left and 3 books that I started. Fingers crossed I can get to a reasonable level. My goal in July was to only read 4 at a time - hard fail.

📝 - Sunday Spredges 📚

Happy sunday folks! I was tagged by @mellowmoodreader @mydarkmoodreads and @lostbetweenpages_x to show off some sprayed edges so thought I’d show off some of my most recent ones that I’ve purchased, and luckily enough, they’re all top notch. Even if I’m slightly biased 😁 I’ve even read more than half of this stack which very rarely happens!

Now to enjoy a usual Sunday evening of stressing about it being Monday soon 👍🏻 hope you’ve all had a splendid weekend! Tagging some of you to show off some sprayed edges too! If you don’t have any then I expect you to sketch something on the side of your books! 🙃

🍂 September Hopefuls 🍂

QOTD: What's an Autumn themed movie or song you'd recommend? Mine's going to be Practical Magic for obvious reasons!

Starting September strong 💪🏻 Buddy reading '84 Charing Cross Road' by Helene Hanff with @justin.wiggins.18 😁 Justin is a big fan of reading & writing & we've been supporting one another's Substacks! Looking forward to this one Justin.

Next on the list for September is:

✨️ Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig
✨️ Lore of the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana
✨️ Catherine by Essie Fox
✨️ The Ashes of the Star- Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent
✨️The Burnings by Naomi Kelsey

...& of course, my pre-order of ASTARION by T.J. Klune 🥰🔥😱 Aghhhh. So excited!!!

Let's be real, this is more my September/ coming into October list 🙈 The Pumpkin Spice & Practical Magic 2 season is almost upon us.

Happy Reading Book Dragons,
Bookish Beans ☕️🤍

P.S. I'll still be meandering through Women Who Run With The Wolves in the background. She's the kind of book I like to linger & ponder in.

How about an August #stack brought to you by the Welsh name for it? Awst!

I read a book called “Among Others” by Jo Walton a long time ago and I don’t remember much other than liking it a lot and enjoying Welsh words showing up here and there. @fantasy_readers_corner read a book set in Wales and I remembered Jo Walton’s.

I decided to continue the Iliad and Odyssey with the 3rd book from the set - The Aeneid translated by Robert Fagles.

Wrath by @john_gwynne_author - because I could see him chucking some Welsh inspired things into his books and I’m about to start Wolves of War.

Jim Butcher’s Skin Game as a nod to the cover of Lions of Fire by @brittanyranewauthor from yesterday and because I’m reading Wax and Wayne by @brandsanderson .

Thrawn Ascendancy (well ok it’s a bit of a cheat because it’s not the book name 🤣) because I would really like to get to Heir to the Empire and start reading some Star Wars books!

If you know any books that would go along with these, let me know!

Thanks for the tag @boo.bitchcraft.books !

📝 - August Hopefuls! 📚

I wasn’t tagged by @entwine_ink and @bookishbugg to share my August hopefuls! Nothing to extraordinary I’m afraid as I’m in the process of consuming all of the Legacy Of Gods series with @lostbetweenpages_x 🙌🏼 Just finished Ruin today, but you’ll have to wait till I do a review to see how Landon ranks. Then finally gonna force myself to give Leigh Rivers a second chance, as everyone adores the Edge Of Darkness trilogy 👌🏼 I’m expecting my socks to be blown off!!

I’m also still trotting through Lonesome Dove and The Knight & The Moth. Enjoying both 😁 though I think Lonesome Dove will be on next months reading list too. But it doesn’t need to be rushed

Tagging more of you so I can be nosy and see what you’re choosing this month! Hope you’re having a good one! 🫶🏼

📚THE LAST 5 BOOKS THAT I… 📚

Thank you to @tom_reads01 for tagging me in this challenge! 💚

Let’s be honest... I’ve bought far more than five books recently, and most of them have been recommended to me by someone at some point. So I’m mostly using this as an excuse to show off a few more books from my shelves. 😅

Have you read any of these, or are any of them on your TBR?

📚 Added to my TBR:
📖 Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher
📖 The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
📖 Sister Wake by Dave Rudden
📖 The Mistral by Felix Mosse
📖 Songs of the Dead by Brandon Sanderson & Peter Orullian

🛒 Bought:
📖 Birth of a Dynasty by Chinaza Bado
📖 This Immortal Heart by Jennifer Saint
📖 The Maiden and the Monster by Maddie Martinez
📖 Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky
📖 The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan

⭐️ Rated 5 Stars:
📖 Dark Age by Pierce Brown
📖 Starling House by Alix E. Harrow
📖 When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker
📖 Medea by Rosie Hewlett
📖 Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

💚 Got Recommended:
📖 Conform by Ariel Sullivan
📖 Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman
📖 Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
📖 Ascendant by Michael R. Miller
📖 Direbound by Sable Sorensen

I’m tagging a few more of you because I always love seeing everyone’s answers to these! 🤍

Love,
Vamps 💚
.
.
.

📝 - Two For Tuesday! 📚

Showing off 2 of my newest acquisitions this week!! Just look how purrty they both are 😍

The Lies That Summon The Night by Tessonja Odette @everheartbookbox edition

&

The Demon Star by Jesse Aragon @thebrokennbinding edition

Straight to the top shelf these 2 are going for everyone to see! (I don’t have guests as I hate people so no one will see 😁) been waiting to read both of these for a while now, and was holding out for a fancy edition. Gonna look so cool and performative reading these in public 👀

Tagging more of you to show off your newest additions. Or even just 2 stunners in your collections. But you’re all the real stunners! 🙌🏼

After succumbing to the subliminal messaging of @bookshopcrawleroli @bromantasy and the “boy fantasy” school 😉 of @cmassbooks I read the book Red Rising which is the first book in the Red Rising trilogy. This book follows Darrow who is a Red underground on Mars. He and his family are amongst a group of pioneers led to believe that they are mining in order to terraform Mars to save humankind. They have been there for 500 years. Except Mars is already habitable and they’re actually slaves. After a devastating loss he joins a group of rebels, disguises himself as a Gold, and infiltrates their society. This is the setting of a dystopian sci-fi fiction novel with a side of true love and found family. I had a great time reading this and found myself wanting to flip the pages faster to find out what happened. There is great character development and a good bit of intrigue leaving me wanting to read the next one. And the end! Phew! There is also some humor sprinkled throughout. This would probably be called a romantasy slow burn if it had been written by a woman. 😆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 #redrising #scifi #dystopian #boyfantasy

Good for fans of:
🖤 dystopian
☄️ sci-fi
🖤 cheering for the underdog
☄️ secret identity
🖤 rebellion

P.S. If you are confused like I was by there appearing to be six books, this is like how we all know ACOTAR is actually a trilogy with a story continuation taking place later on.

📝 - July Stack 📚

The inevitable July stack! @living_athousand_lives posted one and said consider yourself tagged, so I did. Nothing to do with the fact I couldn’t think of anything else to post in this damn heat 😅 Brain was performing so badly that I’d taken multiple shots before I realised I’d spelt July wrong! 🙃 I need a cold shower and an early night I think. Well, maybe just the cold shower as early nights never happen

Hope you’re all surviving the weather and staying safe. Tagging more of you to make you sweat a little extra 😁if I tag you and you’ve already posted one, it’s not that I’ve forgotten, it’s because I loved it and want more people to see it. I promise 👀

📚🍑6 OVER 600 🍑📚

Thank you so much to @pagethatreads for the tag! 💚
I once did a “5 over 500” challenge... It very quickly turned into “every book I own that’s over 500 pages.” 😅
I did not have the energy to repeat that today, so I decided to do what any sane Bookstagrammer would do instead...Colour coordinate them. 😌

So here’s my 6 over 600, all dressed up in my favourite orangey-gold tones. Apparently even my chunky books have to match the aesthetic. 🧡💛

📚 The Stack
📖 Heat of the Everflame by Penn Cole
📖 The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman
📖 The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
📖 The Eye of the Bedlam Bride by Matt Dinniman
📖 House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas
📖 The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

Now it’s your turn! I’d love to see what your biggest books look like... bonus points if they’re colour coordinated. 😂

Love,
Vamps 💚
.
.
.
