That’s all that stands between today and the release of Bibliotherapy in the Bronx—a book born from years of sitting with stories in school hallways, therapy rooms, and community spaces.

I’m honored to be featured in Psychology Today (link in 🔗 tree) in an article by Heather Rose Artushin, LISW-CP: “How to Use Books to Boost Your Mental Health.”

In it, I share:

“Bibliotherapy is the intentional use of literature to support psychological insight, emotional regulation, and personal growth… For Black and Brown clients especially, it becomes a space to reclaim our narratives and witness our experiences reflected on the page.”

On this episode of when booksta friends meet in real life.

I started and deleted this caption so many times because I don't think the words will properly encapsulate what I want to say or how I feel. When the plans for this Canada trip came to fruition, it was three of us in the group chat but life had other plans and so we kept it moving in faith with our two man show because that's what Tash would've wanted.

I met the incredible @booktimewithuta yesterday after years of dms, voicenotes, interacting on posts and let me tell you, Uta is as genuine, FUN and caring irl as she is online!

And we had a time! Uta had me uptown, downtown and all around like kids at Christmas in Toronto and we had the time of our lives!! From bookstore Cafe stops (we headed straight to find Kennedy's books) to lunch in Chinatown to the French bakery and all the impromptu stops in between, my heart is full! Truly the highlight of my trip so far!

Get those trip plans out the group chats friends!

Of course I took too few pics at @steamylitcon, but I got some great ones! And even better…I had a great time. Loved meeting so many readers and getting to see so many of them again. Not to mention author friends. And ICONS like THEEEE @jenkins_beverly (y’all know how I sobbed the last time I saw her. LOL) and the incredible @authornalinisingh. I was starstruck, guys! By them both!

Huge shout out to @booktimewithuta for assisting me and just generally making this such a smooth time. It was a lottttt of folks coming through and she kept me on track. After years of bookstagram posts and DMs, we finally got to hug and laugh and squeal IRL. You were one of my favorite parts of this weekend, my love 🫶🏽

I got good quality time with my bestie @dylanallenromance. There is no one better to have in your corner and there is no better friend. I got to bask in her awesomeness and it was one of the best parts of my trip!

And loved finally meeting @myahmeetscute, such a fresh voice in our genre and the absolute purest heart! I have a few more, but IG limits my photographic greatness 🥰
