I don’t regret much about my time living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. On an extremely short list, however, is not dining @fourhorsemenbk more often, with our apartment having been just a short ten minute walk away. Eleven years in and the caliber of food, cooking, wine, and hospitality is still so incredibly high,
with no signs of letting up.

Sunny’s part two: jumbo shrimp cocktail; hiramasa crudo with charred serrano relish; solid caesar salad; chicken liver mousse with tropical fruit mostarda and grilled bread; @wasenhaus @boozeballin; roasted mushrooms with garlic herb butter; australian wagyu flatiron which is the tastiest steak I’ve had in a while; herb and green peppercorn sauce; kouign-amann ice cream sandwiches. Miss you already, @sunnysmia. #foodballin #foodballinfl

Back in Miami. Back at Sunny’s. Everything was delicious. Highlight bite of the night was the combo of the perfectly cooked pork chop with the anchovy and boquerones. Next level surf and turf. Thanks to Kait and team @sunnysmia for the warm welcome back. #foodballin #foodballinfl @boozeballin

Proper seafood feast @penny_newyork: bright crudos, vegetable dishes that find ways to surprise, delicious wines, perfectly cooked fish plates, my favorite lobster (eat it with the brioche), all three desserts. @a_scary_spider and @amanda_gee doing a fantastic job running this special restaurant. #foodballin

Shrimp sandwich, pickled apples, @max.kilburg Riesling, prosciutto with maple blinis, and almonds. Lucky to get a couple seats for some tasty wine and a few delicious snacks in the coolest little room in New York City. Big love and congrats on @stars_nyc, @chasesinzer @noble_juless @joshuaj88. Sorry to miss you, @gemfiedler! Nice to meet you, @dcgw! #foodballin @boozeballin

Final dinner of the trip. Crown Heights for Chakriya Un’s otherworldly cooking at BONG. Favorites were most likely the heritage pork chop and salt and pepper shrimp, because we’re suckers for tremendous versions of each. But everything crushed. We made a mess. It was fun. Nice Gamay/Chard to wash it all down. @kreung_cambodia @chaparroach @bong.nyc #foodballin

My mind expands every time I have a meal here. Whether from dishes with flavor combos I’ve never had before, or from wine that just tastes so nice. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Thank you @nick.tamburo @haranmcelroy nathan, ian, leslie and team @smithereensnyc #foodballin

Super fun dinner @claud_nyc on Sat with @esmith0501 @al_pastor_brian and @therealscottgreg. Perennial favorite since 2022 and a highlight of any trip back. Congrats to @joshuaj88 @chasesinzer and co. on the @nytimes nod as one of New York City’s finest. #foodballin

Bistrot Ha for night two. Dinner with the co-captain of team #foodballin @martinrfmata and his better half @de_yarbrough. I always love catching up with these two, picking up right where we left off. Sadie Mae Burns and Anthony Ha’s food is something else. Could’ve had the whole menu. Hospitality-wise, it’s nice when you can bond and joke with your server about past and present allergies. Thanks, Sam. What a place. @has_dac_biet
