• happy wednesday ♡︎

i’m back!!!! it’s been a minute since i last posted! i miss you all but i needed a little bit of a break. let’s catch up!!!

so last time i posted, i mentioned i had a gastric sleeve surgery. as of now, i’ve lost 140 pounds and i feel better than i have felt in years! i’m so proud of myself and the progress i’ve made when it comes to my health and fitness! i’m not done though and i can’t wait to continue getting fit!

life has been so good to me lately! i included some slides in this post of what’s been going on the last few months. i’m in a new relationship, my babies are doing amazing, i’ve inherited two step fur babies, my book club (@boozybookwormz) is doing great, my family is awesome and i am blessed with the best friends ever! i am one happy girly!

i did hit my reading goal last year of 60 books so this year i’ve upped it to 65. i did recently go back to college so my reading has been lacking because of my classes but i’m sure i’ll get in the groove soon and manage my school reading and reading for pleasure just fine! i’m currently reading ‘heartless hunter’ and loving it! the first picture in the post is some recent books gifted to me by friends and i’m excited to read them!

oh yeah, your girl is a college student again!!! i’m super excited to be back and i can’t wait to work my butt off cause the goal is law school!

anyway, that’s enough about me! how’s everyone else doing? why are you reading?! catch me up!!

This months Book Club Botm is Still Beating

I read this book a couple months ago & all I can say is Cora and Dean will forever have my heart. Shackled by hate, Freed by love
Such a heart breaking story yet clearly meant for each other
Forever rereading this book, def one of my favorites 🫶🏽

i’m 12 days late in posting this but hey better late than never, right? lol. july was a really good month for me! since my surgery, it’s been the first month i started to go out and do more social gatherings! i’m still learning the limitations of my new stomach and it’s crazy just how little i eat at a time lol but it’s been good to go out to dinner and enjoy myself even if i’m asking for a to go box quickly! july has also been my best reading month this year! i finished a total of 11 books:

♥ 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥:
— problematic summer romance // 4 ☆‘s
— a series of unfortunate events: the austere academy // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— a series of unfortunate events: the ersatz elevator // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— the summer i turned pretty // 4 ☆‘s
— it’s not summer without you // 4 ☆‘s
— we’ll always have summer// 4 ☆‘s
— my side of the river // 5 ☆‘s (my book club, @boozybookwormz’s read of the month)

♥ 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨
— a court of mist and fury // 5 ☆‘s (reread)
— a court of wings and ruin // 5 ☆‘s (reread)
— a court of frost and starlight // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— a court of silver flames // 5 ☆‘s (reread)

i was really proud of how much i read and it put me way ahead of my reading goal which is honestly a plus! getting to spend most of this month in velaris again with my girl nesta made me happy!

also, as of today i’m 55 pounds down since the surgery and it feels amazing! physically im moving around and doing things i haven’t done in a long time! the gym has also become my friend! i feel better than i have felt in years both physically and mentally! i’ve also been spending my time with people that are good for me and who bring something positive to my life and it’s been fulfilling. i’ve been so content with this new chapter of my life and i’m actually happy. 2025 has really been my year so far and i’m loving every second of it ✨

💭 what was the highlight of your july?

june was a month of recovering & embracing a new lifestyle. i had my gastric sleeve surgery at the end of may so i spent a majority of june at home resting and recovering. i had amazing friends come over to help me with things around my apartment or to just keep me company. my village showed up and i’m thankful af. while at home healing, i did get a lot of reading done! i finished a total of 9 books:

♥ 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥:
— wild eyes // 5 ☆‘s
— a series of unfortunate events: the bad beginning // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— a series of unfortunate events: the reptile room // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— wild side // 4 ☆‘s
— a series of unfortunate events: the wide window // 4 ☆‘s (reread)
— summer romance // 4.5 ☆‘s (my book club’s read of the month)
— a series of unfortunate events: the miserable mill // 4 ☆‘s (reread)

♥ 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞:
— when she unravels // 5 ☆‘s

♥ 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨
— a court of thorns and roses // 4 ☆‘s (reread)

the healing process of this surgery has been a rough one, physically and mentally but i’m getting by with the help and support of my friends and family and it means everything to me. my book club has also shown up and it makes my heart happy! i’m glad we got to get together for june’s book discussion and potluck (even if i couldn’t eat most of the yummy food lol). i love creating memories with them! i’m still on a strict diet post surgery but i’m already down 30 pounds in a month and i feel better than i’ve felt j. a while! all in all it was a great month and i’m excited to see what the second half of the year had in store for me ✨

💭 what was your favorite thing about june?

𝓯𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓾𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓼:
@boozybookwormz read this month was Addicted to You by @kbmritchie , and it was definitely something I was unsure of at first but I was addicted in the first chapter! Lily and Los story was heartbreakingly beautiful I had to finish the series between them and see how they ended up! It felt perfect for the month of february ♡ This was definitely ☆☆☆☆☆!

& Of course I had to pick up Onyx Storm by @rebeccayarros back in January and was able to finally finish it a week ago, and it was .. everything I thought it’d be. Xaden and Violets story is just sooooo indescribable I’m speechless everytime something happens between them, I will have to stay the last line and turning into the acknowledgements ?! a TEASE REBECCA but overall can’t wait for the next book in the series! This was for sure ☆☆☆☆☆

Lastly, not pictured either was The Ice Out by @minamylesbooks. This was my first hockey romance book and I was super excited the beginning was so good and I was so into it. Mason immediately took my heart Violet … ehh debatable. The ending absolutely killed me, it was very anti climatic and I felt very let down and disappointed. I’m hoping this hasn’t ruined the hockey romance genre for me. over a ☆☆☆/5
