POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Back in 2019 I made @borbpaints and have streamed over 400 livestream episodes of his show on twitch.tv/tomthinks since. He’s a cute and gentle spirit. His animation rig happened accidentally while I was building a simple animation tool idea, and recently I combined it with our other @cartoonmesslive show layout. We actually have 4+ different shows. We are our own network 😂 I used to livestream 3-5 times a week, but took a break a year ago and haven’t had a schedule since. I think I should start scheduling some livestreams again so you can catch them!

Ooooweee lookie! Borb painted a lil Otis from when we lived in the UK. Naturally the UK is a dark and shadowy/grey place, so I must apologize to Borb for the challenges the shadows created. But--Borb did amazing work, per usual. What a talented gourd. 🎉✨

2020 sure has been a frame changer for live theatre makers and theatre goers...As events for large groups are still nadda nope not happening in our city or anywhere nearby. We’ve been seeking out virtual live theatre where a living breathing audience IS still essential. QUESTION: what boundary pushing, tingly feeling inducing, live theatre stuff have you experienced online this year?
(We’re not including pre recorded theatre or stuff released online like an art film. we’ll be saving those gems for another post!)
Acknowledging performance that NEEDS a live audience, because we want to feel that LIVE CONNECTION IS POSSIBLE IN A VIRTUAL SPACE.
Here’s some live stream performances that wowed us in 2020:
~
TheSushiDragon we found while surfing Twitch. (Twitch is designed like a video game so as a new viewer you have a dig around to find the gems). Quirky present world of live editing, electronic dance moves, real life tech blunders psychedelia.
@thesushidragon
🐉 🍣

The AfterParty: choose your own adventure with Shirley Gnome! Storytelling, musical inter-ludes, chalked full with audience polls. Can’t wait for the next raunchy & drug induced chapter!
@shirleygnome
🎸 🍆 🦅
~
Twitch is built for interactivity and
TomThinks @tomthinks @borbpaints is doing live complex (made to look simple) animated puppetry based on audience suggestions. super fun live drawing & painting goof.
🎨 🖊 🐦
~
Also on TwitchTV
DandiDoesIt @dandi.does.it
Has a whole narrative around the audience being “testers” that can PASS OR FAIL her as a product entity. Dance along for exercise. The Chat/Audience can make decisions together. Surreal tech tricks eye candy.
🐅 🤸🏻‍♀️ 🦃

IMMERSIVERSE was an online party we attended that had plenty of zoom rooms to choose from with varying levels of engagement. one room belonged to ESMERELDA
@windywynazz who cast spells, answered questions and made real skilled use of the captive audience. clown brilliance!
🔮 💗 🎭

At @denfringe we saw #Txtshow (on the internet) by
@brianfeldmanprojects who used text directly from the zoom chat and performed it verbatim. A hilarious portrait of the audience emerged through him as the actor/conduit. ✨📲 👀
