CHICAGO REPRESENT!💥What a weekend with @oneoffhospitality in New York! We accompanied @rob_levitt @kyle.huff @donniemadia as they brought @publicanchicago & @publicanquality to Manhattan.

FIRST STOP: @platformbyjbf for an Oktoberfest dinner featuring dishes like Leberkäseen Croûte with Potato Salad, Pickled Eggs, and Frisée, and Black Forest Ochsenbraten with Rye Dumplings and Sweet–Sour Radicchio -> scroll to check out the massive beef shanks Rob & Kyle packed in their suitcases 🤣. (From Chicago with love! 🍖♥️).

THEN: the most delicious sampling of PQM salumi and more on the menu at @borgonyc all night long. Thank you Chef @jordanfrosolone and team for your incredible hospitality! 🍝🍷

This is quite the blurry photo of some amazing people, followed by clear photos of the delicious food at Borgo! We had a great time hosting our first new series small-format NYC Hospitality Alliance industry dinner, bringing together restaurant and nightlife people to enjoy a meal and nourish our relationships. The Borgo team was incredibly warm and hospitable, and the restaurant is beautiful. They truly deserve all the praise they’ve received. A big thank you to my dear friend Liz Murray and, of course, Andrew Tarlow too for hosting us!

This year, Lee Campbell was honored with the James Beard Award for Outstanding Professional in Beverage Service. And it all started with a knock.
In the mid-’90s, Lee was an aspiring law student headed for Capitol Hill, until one meal at chef Nora Pouillon’s restaurant in D.C. changed everything.
“I woke up the next day, I knocked on the kitchen door, I asked for a job, and they gave me one.”
That bold move led to a career championing natural wine, building lists across Brooklyn, co-founding Common Wealth Crush in Virginia, and now leading the wine program at Borgo in NYC.
I’m honored to share her story in my Wine With Wanda column in the October/November issue of @sommjournal. Her advice to fellow somms: never forget the first wines that inspired you, and remember that wine is rooted in farming and community.

On Sunday, October 25th, we’re hosting a walk-around tasting of incredible soups from some of downtown NYC’s most renowned chefs and restaurants.

$55 per person, entry at 12pm or 2pm.

All proceeds will be donated to the Trinity Church Soup Kitchen.
