F E L I Z • A Ñ O • N U E V O ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Gregorian New Year to y’all! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I shared my year in review today in my stories. Looking back on all the good, the bad, and the magic that this year has been makes me so emotional. 😭 So let me just spill my guts for a second... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yes, I am very proud of all of the goals I accomplished this year but I didn’t accomplish these goals alone. ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’ve been following me for a bit, you know how much I value COMMUNITY. Community is everything to me and it would’ve been a lot more difficult to reach my goals this year without mine. That includes YOU, because as a follower of this page, you are welcomed into this educational and motivational space. You are welcomed into my world and I hope you gain something from my vulnerable shares, even if it’s just the idea that you too, can share your story unapologetically. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the beginning of 2020 I set an intention to finally break free of the pressures to look, act, or speak like anyone other than myself and trusted that the people I was meant to interact with would come. And you did! 💗💗💗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am so grateful for every single one of you. Those who engage with me in the DMs and those who don’t. Those who invest in my content, and those who don’t. Those who allow me to call them to vent and cry or seek validation, and those I’ve never met irl. You are all welcomed here and I’m so grateful that you’re here with me on this journey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ May we all receive an abundance of love, health, and peace of mind in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣1️⃣! We’re in this together! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m sharing my my biggest take aways from 2020 down below! 👇🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please feel free to add yours too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I know it's been a heavy week. And I know for me, the support of fellow BIPOC birthworkers has meant everything. Having a community to be present with you, and to learn & heal alongside you, makes all the difference. For birthworkers still looking for that community amongst BIPOC folks, some amazing colleagues and I have teamed up once again to host the 10-week ☀️Birth Bruja BIPOC Birthwork Mentorship Program☀️ The first cohort's experience was special beyond words, and we're super excited to welcome cohort 2! If you or any BIPOC birthworker you know is interested, share with them today because applications are due this weekend. Applications are due TOMORROW. Link in bio for more info 🌵

Hi friends! It’s me, Micaela “Mickey” McHenry. The woman behind Sage & Rebozos. It’s been quite some time. You may have noticed I scrubbed my profile and stopped taking clients. I took a break from my “business” as I focused on my own fertility, conscious conception, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, another pregnancy, labor & birth, and now postpartum. I’d like to start hosting virtual offerings again via @birthbruja but I’d like to gauge interest in what you all are hoping to see from me/us. I already have some specific offerings planned out but I’m very curious what the birthwork community is feeling like they need at this time. I’m going to give a refresher of my background for those of you that are new here or are not familiar with my work. I am a Full Spectrum Indigenous Doula (Lakota, Apache & Mexika) and while I will happily assist with all aspects of reproductive care postpartum is my jam! Birthy Stuff — I have extended knowledge in both genital and cesarean birth physical recovery, exercise in pregnancy & postpartum, foods, teas & herbs for pregnancy & postpartum, bodyfeeding, newborn care, babywearing, bedsharing, perinatal mood disorders, reproductive justice, abortion & miscarriage support, bodywork, vaginal steaming, supporting survivors of sexual assault, and birth trauma support. Bruja Stuff — I enjoy assisting in ancestral mending and reclamation; this is for you to work with your own lineages and not for you to learn mine. I provide limpias for body and space, guidance for altar building, peer support in healing Mother Wounds, guided meditation, and foods & herbs for healing. Let me know what is speaking to you and I’ll see what I can do about coming up with abundant offerings for y’all. Wishing you all ease this evening. 💗✨

Hi friends - it’s Birth Bruja Team Member Mickey. As many of you know I’ve been moving through the fourth trimester over the last few months. While I’ve been transitioning into parenthood my grandfather has been transitioning to the spirit world. I’ve been filled with so many mixed emotions as this has been a time of joy and celebration for the birth of my Frijolito I have had to navigate deep grief and anger simultaneously. I’m currently grieving the fact that Avery won’t get to experience Grandpa Gabe. As a career birthworker taking time away from my work means no income, and with a miscarriage followed by a new pregnancy, hyperemesis and the fourth trimester I have been unable to work for over a year, now. Somewhere there was miscommunication (whether he was purposefully mislead or not I do not know) and my Grandpa Gabe believed that the monetary portion of his death was taken care of…and well it wasn’t and dying is expensive. My mom only learned of this after speaking with the VA and the funeral home this past Friday. My Nana, mom and I are asking for community support in giving him a proper memorial service. If you cannot donate please, pray for us, share this post to amplify, and comment on the post with a favorite story about your own grandparents. https://gofund.me/965c2de7 ***GoFundMe link in @bossa_novaaa IG Bio***
