@claire.packman and I got married! In Catalonia! A taster of our day (though we won’t be able to resist another when the official pics come through).

Thanks to everyone pictured here, and for that matter everyone not pictured here, for making the event a non-stop joy.

And thanks to those in other key supporting roles, notably the staff at the stunning venue of @hotelcastellemporda, our much-admired photographer @sergimaneja , @artiflor.es and their dreamy flowers, style guru @teresasnowball_co co, @djfreeman79 and his floor-fillers, @claudiadorado_guitarra for being a guitar god and for Love of My Life in particular, and lighting legends @kamalevents.

A famous French man once said..."Football is an art" 🎨

Watercolours, street art, questionable scarves and self pouring pint machines. It's all happening 🖌️

Is anyone else feeling a little out of sorts….? Can it be the seasonal shift, the lack of rain, and the consistently warm temperatures…? As a garden designer, these things after a long hot dry summer begin to grate… BUT, I am embracing the russet-brown flowers (Acanthus mollis and Eupatorium purpureum) from the garden together with the flash of pink Anemone jap. ‘September Charm’ and the glorious pompom Dahlias from the collection I did with @sarahravensgarden last autumn.. This one is Dahlia ‘Copper Boy’ …. A wonderful deep burnt red which has reliably flowered all summer long despite the heat! Go gently everyone, sending much love!! Xxxx

Nick Botting has been exhibiting with Portland Gallery for over 20 years, and we’re delighted to have this joyful scene of Venice included in our anniversary exhibition. Nick captures the day-to-day life of the Grand Canal; tourists scrambling out of a boat, coffee drinkers resting in the shade, a man ferrying more passengers to their destination – all set against the romantic splendour of Venetian townhouses and palazzos.

Portland Gallery 40th Anniversary Exhibition: 14 – 25 September

For a list of available works from our anniversary exhibition, or for more paintings by Nick Botting please DM us or email art@portlandgallery.com

Another look at our mixed summer presentation. This selection of contemporary works are all united in their depictions of light – whether the heat of the South of France in Paul Rafferty’s scene, or light pouring through a skylight in Gordon Mitchell’s surreal composition.

For a list of available works or for any enquiries please DM us or email art@portlandgallery.com

Our summer presentation continues until Friday 4 September.

A little snapshot of our mixed August exhibition. Although it’s a quiet time for the art world it is always a nice opportunity to get a variety of pieces out of the stockroom and on to the walls and see how interact with each other.
