Girls trip! So thankful for these dear dear women. While the bangs and tats might be fake, the convos, tears and laughter were more than real. Great trip!!

One of my favorite passages of Scripture is Psalm 56:8, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

It doesn’t say this anywhere else in Scripture, but I can’t help but wonder… what if the Lord shows us the bottle? What if, one day, we get to see each tear He tenderly collected and kept?

Every tear of confusion.
Every tear of frustration.
Every tear of exhaustion.
Every tear of desperation.
Every tear of sorrow and joy.
Every tear of victory and of defeat.
Every tear of physical, mental, and emotional anguish.
Even every tear we shed while we raged against Him.

Sometimes, in the here and now, we can wonder if He even sees them. If He even cares about the tears we cry, the questions we carry, and the devastations we face. But when we see Him face-to-face, we will know. We will know His pure goodness, love, and holiness. We will know He never once sinned against us.

And I keep thinking about seeing my tears in His bottle. I know I won’t be demanding of Him why He let me cry so many. Instead, I will see…

I will see that He cared.
I will see that He was near.
I will see that He was faithful.
I will see that He was working.
I will see that He was redeeming.
I will see that He didn’t abandon me.
I will see that He hadn’t stopped loving me.
I will see that He understood why I doubted Him, but that He was always still worthy of my complete and total trust. Because our tears and our trials cannot change the truth of who He is.

May we lean into Him knowing He’s leaning in close to us. Catching each tear we shed now, knowing that one day, at the right time, when He sets all things right, there will be no more tears. Just bottles of our once shed tears—evidence we were not forgotten, we were not forsaken, we were destined for full rescue, for wholeness, for being brought safely all the way home.
