Tried the signature pork char siu claypot rice here. Honest thoughts? it’s not bad.. but also not something I’d rave about. The char siu itself was decent, but the overall bowl felt quite basic.

Didn’t really get that smoky wok hei you’d expect from a good claypot rice, which was a bit of a letdown. Flavours were there, just not very memorable & something I’d go out of my way for 🤷🏻‍♀️

✨ PULP (pork-free, alcohol-free) – One of KL’s OG specialty coffee spots, serving quality drinks and scrumptious brunch (admin’s fave ngl).

✨ Hot Buns Co. (non-halal) – Big, bold gourmet burgers, lamb ribs, and wagyu steak. Must-try is the Bone Marrow Burger.

✨ Tokyo Ramen (pork-free, alcohol-free) – Serving up authentic Tokyo ramen made by a Japanese Muslim chef.

✨Olivia’s Deli (non-halal) – A Southern European deli shop offering wholesome Portuguese and Mediterranean dishes.

✨ BASK. (pork-free, alcohol-free) – Famous for their burnt cheesecake, the matcha flavour is rich, creamy, and oh-so-decadent.

To capture the atmosphere, we shot the entire gallery on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Night scenes like these can be tricky, but the Ultra’s larger sensor and upgraded low-light processing pull in more light while keeping details sharp.

The AI image processing helps reduce noise without flattening colours, so neon signs, warm café lighting, and shadowy corners still look natural.

From glowing shopfronts to late-night food shots, it handled the darker environment effortlessly — proving you don’t need a bulky camera to capture KL’s nightlife.

🐷Three Heavenly Kings - Liver sausage, waxed sausage, pork lard, pork salami, vege.
💭 Really wanted to like this place as the concept sounds great… food cooked to order on those fancy rotating stoves and all that fusion flair. But honestly, it looked better on paper than in execution.
💬 Ingredients were pretty meagre for the price, and as for the ambience, there’s no AC too. Just imba when the ratio of pork lard is that much because it’s a cheaper ingredient. The pork salami just didn’t work; its strong spices clashed with the Chinese sauces and ended up tasting off. If I had to reorder again, I’d go for something more straightforward. Might as well go to Pudu for proper claypot rice - at least it’s classic and satisfying, with better flavour and portion for the same price and ambience anyway. Feels like Bou’s price tag is totally meant for APW Bangsar folks.

#claypotrice #apw love the taste but….. lack of Shao Xing wine and also a bit pricey. Other than that is good 8/10
