On Friday, 20th February 2026, I had the privilege of volunteering at the blood drive hosted by Evercare Hospital Lekki — and it became more than just a day of service; it became a moment of clarity ✨

As I slowly wind down my days in medical school, I find myself standing at the threshold of what’s next. That experience reminded me that medicine is not just about degrees or titles — it’s about people, community, and the courage to envision a bigger impact.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tolu Fanibuyan, whose insights on merging healthcare and technology deeply resonated with me. It reaffirmed something I strongly believe: the future of healthcare lies at the intersection of compassion and innovation 💡

I left with two powerful reflections:
• Be intentional about building the right community — mentors and collaborators who stretch your thinking 🤝
• Think beyond today’s systems and dare to create solutions that solve global healthcare challenges 🌍

Witnessing excellence and innovation in action strengthened my resolve to not just practice medicine, but to help shape its future.

The journey ahead is unfolding — and I’m ready to learn, grow, and build 🚀

If I were to describe my Community Health posting in 500 level in one word, it would have been uninteresting— or so I thought.

That was until one fateful day when we went on a field trip to the Lagos Waterworks, Iju. Beyond the insightful learning experience, what truly stayed with me were the little adventures, the shared laughter, and the smiling faces of my friends and coursemates.

In that moment, I was reminded of how far we’ve come — from struggling with transition lists in 100 level to navigating countless Community Health slides and lectures. It’s funny how, amidst the chaos, we still find joy, friendship, and meaning.

While this journey is a subtle reminder that we’re all growing older, I prefer to see it as one step closer to the goal that unites us all — medicine, purpose, and the pursuit of happiness.

As I round off my Community Health posting, I carry with me not just knowledge, but memories and gratitude.
Here’s to growth, to shared experiences, and to always staying close to the real ones. 💙

✨ A Day of Innovation, Impact & Inspiration! 🌍💡

On October 24th, 2025, history was made as the LASUMSA Tech Club held its first-ever Tech4Impact Innovation Workshop at the GMC Hackerspace, Ikeja!

The goal was simple — to empower students to use technology to drive global change and explore career opportunities within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) space. 🌱💻

With the support of our amazing partners — @gomycode.nigeria , @mcnpartners , @tds.africa , and @lagoscityzenshub — the day brought together innovators and thought leaders who are shaping the future.

Our inspiring speakers included Emily Mfon from @tds.africa who spoke on SDG education and global opportunities, Dr. Joy Aifuobhokhan who discussed AI in healthcare, the UrbanBetter Lagos Cityzens Hub team who explored how technology can advance climate action, Isidahomen Isiramen (TWCC) who shared insights on tech, innovation, and education, and Beckley Oserebameh Augustine who inspired students with his story in health tech innovation.

It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and limitless inspiration as students gained the tools to turn their ideas into impact.

A big thank you to Seun Olagunju-Lana, Founder of The Development School Africa, for her immense support, and to all our speakers, partners, and participants who made this historic event possible.

Together, we’re raising a generation of changemakers ready to transform the world through technology and purpose-driven innovation. 🚀

On September 27th, as part of the executive team of MEDICAWARE, we organized a free medical outreach for the Ikeja Local Government community.

I was originally assigned to dispense medications, but when no one was available to address the crowd, I decided to step up and educate the community.

It became one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had — connecting with people, answering their health questions, and using what I’ve learned in medicine to make a real difference. 🩺💙

Mahatma Gandhi once said,

“We must be the change we want to see in the world.”

Those words truly resonate with me and continue to guide my journey — both in medicine and in life.

To everyone out there passionate about healthcare, innovation, and global impact, let’s keep being the change together. 🌱🌍
