Low-carb diets lower insulin in your body, causing your kidneys to get rid of more water and salt (which is why high-carb diets cause bloating). Because of this, you need to replace that lost salt - a couple of cups of @bovril a day does the trick perfectly.

Milk 🥛 & Honey 🍯 Roast Chicken
A recipe that uses milk as the cooking liquor. I added turmeric and green peppercorns for balancing sweetness… I am completely hypnotised by it, succulent, sweet but savoury and the CURDS, the CURDS!!!!!!! A really lovely alternative to traditionally roasted chicken, recipes on its way to my Substack, linked in my bio

On today’s episode of Can You Say That, we ask whether it’s appropriate to refer to your friend/co-host as a brown cloud? Even if he looks like one. Send us your thoughts.

England 2 vs 3 Spain
Wembley Stadium, London
Nations League

A rare entertaining England game at Wembley. A shame we were on the wrong side of the result. We score the penalty and it’s a whole different game.

In better news at least I managed to snag an Oasis ticket today.

Hey lovelies I just made this Healthy Dirty Cabbage (sounds rude when saying it out loud 🤣)
It might look like a total free-for-all in a pan, but it is hands down one of the most delicious, hit-the-spot dinners I’ve made in ages!
It’s packed with lean protein, loaded with veggies and fibre, ultra-low carb, and ideal for batch cooking so future-you who doesn't have to cook later in the week.

I have done an easy step-by-step recipe if you want to give it a go
Servings: 4–6 generous batch portions
Nutrition Perks: Low-Carb | High-Protein | High-Fibre.

🛒 Ingredients
The Base & Veggies:
Spray light olive oil
1 large white onion, finely diced
1 large bell pepper, finely diced
2 large fresh carrots, finely diced
1 large white cabbage, finely shredded
Garlic puree (to taste)
500g 5% fat mince steak
The Flavor Boosters:
2 Bovril stock cubes dissolved in boiling water (approx. 300–500ml)
2 large tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Italian mixed herbs
¼ tsp chilli powder (add more if you like serious heat!)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp light soy sauce
Salt & black pepper, to taste
To Serve (Per Portion):
2 tsp low-fat or fat-free Greek yogurt
Cholula hot sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)
A sprinkle of eatlean / low-fat protein cheese

1
Prep the Veggies
Finely dice the onion, bell pepper, and carrots into small cubes. Shred the white cabbage finely.
2
Sauté the Base
Lightly spray a large pan or wok with light olive oil over a low heat. Add the diced onion, pepper, and carrots, sautéing until they begin to soften.
3
Brown the Beef & Garlic
Add the 5% mince steak directly into the softened veggies. Stir continuously to crumble and brown the meat, then stir through the garlic puree. Cook for about 6 minutes until browned through.
4
Season & Stir
Stir in the tomato puree, paprika, Italian herbs, chilli powder, Worcestershire sauce, and light soy sauce. Mix thoroughly so the spices toast and coat the beef and veggies.
5
Simmer & Reduce
Pile in all the shredded cabbage. Crumble in the Bovril stock cubes and pour in enough boiling water to help simmer everything together. Stir well, cover loosely with lid, and let it cook down until the cabba

Portsmouth 2 vs 2 Blackburn Rovers
Fratton Park, Portsmouth
Championship

Fratton Park was a ground I was really excited to tick off, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

The four-hour drive down was well worth it, as I loved the character of the ground. Parts of it genuinely felt like you were walking into an old Tudor house.

Entering the away end, you climb the stairs to the top of the stand, where the concessions are located. There was a good variety on the menu, and I couldn’t resist a second sausage roll of the day when I spotted one infused with Red Leicester. The Bovril was a standard £3, and I also decided to give the local Pompey Pilsner a go — although the less said about that, the better. It tasted how I imagine cat’s urine tastes.

Inside the ground, Fratton Park had a real essence of Goodison Park about it, particularly with the supporting beams and the stand with the clock sitting on top. There’s just something about grounds like this that you don’t get with modern stadiums.

The game didn’t disappoint either, with an entertaining 2-2 draw where both teams went for it and created plenty of chances.

Overall, a great day out, and I’d really recommend any football fan visit Fratton Park. It’s a proper old-school football ground packed with character.
