The Richmond International Film Festival collaborates with the Israeli Embassy while spreading anti-trans and Israeli propaganda.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The choice of Heather Waters to screen a direct-to-YouTube Israeli propaganda film made by two far right-wing members of the Israeli government with zero filmmaking experience is solid proof that RIFF can no longer be considered an outlet for artistic expression but rather has devolved into a platform for pro-genocidal Israeli rhetoric and hateful ideologies.

Not only are Waters and RIFF screening this film, but they will also be hosting its directors. Both men have directly participated in the genocide of Palestinians; one is an army reserve major who was active in 2023 and 2024 and the other is a member of the ultranationalist “Israel First” party.

Richmond must not accept the screening of hate films or the presence of war criminals in our town. Please continue to boycott RIFF until Heather Waters is no longer at its helm and it ceases to screen hateful propaganda.
