Jamaican-inspired burger night! 🔥 Big love to @boydbrown3 for the recipe. Would you try this Jerk Smash Burger?

Jerk Marinade: 1/2c vinegar • 2 tbsp soy • 3 tsp browning • 4–6 Scotch bonnets • 1 onion • 4 scallions • 4 tsp thyme • 4 tbsp olive oil • 6 tsp allspice • 1½ tsp cinnamon • 1½ tsp nutmeg • 4 tsp ginger • 2 tsp brown sugar • 10 garlic cloves • 1/2c OJ • 1 lime

Jerk Marinade Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup white vinegar
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 3 tsp browning
• 4–6 Scotch bonnets (or habaneros)
• 1 white onion, diced
• 4 scallions, diced
• 4 tsp dried thyme
• 4 tbsp olive oil
• 6 tsp ground allspice
• 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1.5 tsp ground nutmeg
• 4 tsp fresh ginger (about 1 ounce)
• 2 tsp brown sugar
• 10 cloves garlic, peeled
• 1/2 cup orange juice
• 1 lime

Sweet goodness!

CARAMELIZED BAKED SWEET POTATOES

Ingredients:
4 medium sweet potatoes, cleaned
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
Grab 3-4 medium sweet potatoes and slice them lengthwise, right down the middle.

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and vanilla extract. Whisk everything together until it forms a smooth, lightly thickened mixture. Add the sweet potatoes to the bowl and coat them evenly, making sure the flat side is fully covered.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the sweet potatoes flat side down. Bake at 400°F for 50-55 minutes (depending on the size/ & all oven vary in temp), until the bottoms are deeply caramelized and the centers are tender. For context, I used the larger sweet potatoes.

Let them cool for at least 10 minutes before moving them. This step is important as it allows that caramelized layer to set and release clean from the pan.

Made these sweet potato boats this weekend with a little Kristal twist on something I saw from @boydbrown3 in a Reel. 😋🍠

I’m currently doing a 5-Day Daniel Fast, and with this on the menu, I didn’t even miss the meat!

I reduced the sugar compared to the original recipe and paired it with a small salad topped with mixed beans. It absolutely hit the spot. 🙌🏽
