Thirsty Thursday!

Aged one year in a former rye whiskey barrel, proofed at 115, this cask strength barrel aged gin from Thirteenth Colony is just fantastic.

An aromatic bouquet of herbal, floral and sweetness fills the glass and then explodes on the tongue once sipped. Sweet pine, soft lavender, a touch of caramel, some clove, and a good bit of citrus.....just tasty and flavorful as all get out. An absolute pleasure to sip!

Keep on rollin y'all 🥃🤘

Words of Wisdom!

Be the solution, don't be the problem.

If your problem is you don't have any good whiskey, go find a bottle of this Bernheim wheat whiskey and BOOM that problem is solved!!

It is a very good pour; subtle stone fruits, burnt toffee, caramel, oak spice.....what a nice pour 😋

Try to be a part of the solution y'all 🥃🤙

Single Barrel Saturday!

Longleaf Distillery released this honey cask finished bourbon, named Creekside, to commemorate 10 years of WNEX 100.9 The Creek.

I love sharing local, I love sharing craft, and I especially love sharing authenticity and passion. This is what local and craft is all about. A local distillery collaborating with a local radio station to represent the city and the culture.

Cheers y'all 🥃🍯

Tater Tuesday!

If you follow this page you might have seen that we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise last month. While on the cruise, of course, we checked out the spirits at the shops. Seen they had Blanton's, but honestly had no interest. Then on our last day on the ship we attended a tasting and I discovered that the Blanton's was a Royal Caribbean single barrel select. I figured what the heck, I'll get one and it will be a cool souvenir.

Funny thing is our very first cruise ever was to the Bahamas out of Orlando and it was on Enchantment of the Seas. Then this time, several cruises and many years later, we set sail out of Tampa on a 7 day cruise and it was on Enchantment of the Seas! The ship replica was gifted to us on our last day, matter of fact we found it in our room when we returned from the tasting. Pretty cool how it all worked out!

Cheers y'all 🥃🛳

Rum Monday!

Just the smell invokes so many memories. Appleton Estate has been my go-to for rum based cocktails for years now. There's been a lot of memories made with their rum in a cup or a glass in my hand. It's got that Jamaican funk, but not at an obnoxious level. This 15yr Black River Casks is quite delicious. This pour makes everyting irie mon!! 🥃🤙

My Wife Picked It!

When we moved and the collection was in boxes I would do Wife Pick Wednesday. She picked a bottle out of a box and that's what I poured and drank that evening. Well the collection isn't in boxes anymore, it's all out, mostly on shelves now. But I figured let's start that up again.

She had two rules this time...1) it has to be a tequila (only because I wanted to sip on a tequila), and 2) has to give me reason she choose it.

She chose this single barrel pick of Paladar añejo because of its absolutely stunning label...swipe to see the close up. It is very captivating. The pick was by Seelbach's. It is age stated 12 years. Aged in ex-bourbon barrel. Proof is 92.

If you're not familiar with their bottles trust me you need to actually hold one in your hands. They feel authentic, genuine, unique, and definitely craft. There's a rough texture on bottom of every bottle. It is actual volcanic soil from the agave fields that they mix with glue and dip the bottles into. Yes, no kidding, that's what they do. Then they use string sourced locally in Mexico to wrap the neck of each bottle. This is all done by hand at their distillery! Each bottle is a unique one off piece of art. Amazing stuff when you slow down and think about the effort and dedication that goes into doing that.

The liquid inside is no departure. It tastes genuine as well. A bit of sweet agave, a touch of earthy minerality, a nice compliment of oak and all-spice, with a hint of a peppery bite. It's an easy sipper that delights in every way.

Cheers y'all 🥃🤙

Felt like sippin on a really good rum this evening. This XXX single barrel from @richland_rum fits the bill very well. Coal had to do some inspecting. He ultimately gave it an eight toe bean approval 🐾 🥃

Words of Wisdom and a tiny little introduction!

While on our cruise vacation we had a port in Belize City. While there I bought this bottle of @copallirum. Also that same day we got word from back home that a tiny little kitten was found all alone in a box. We didn't hesitate to commit to accepting him into our home as soon as we returned from our trip.

While we still grieve the loss of our precious Bickley, we are excited about the future of the Given Pack with the addition of Coal. He's got a feisty little attitude, and a fearless spirit.

Life is full of ups and downs. Cherish the ride, cherish the highs, cherish the thrills, and most of all cherish the lives that leave an impression on yours!!
