Four years ago today. October 14, 2022.

I walked into a room carrying more hope than I knew what to do with.

There were no guarantees. No promises. Just two tiny embryos, a whole lot of science, and a heart that desperately wanted this to be the beginning of something.

That day, I transferred two embryos. Two tiny possibilities, two little hopes. Only one would become the little girl I get to call mine. And at the time, I had no idea which one she would be.

I couldn't have known what the next four years would look like.

I couldn't have imagined the little girl who would one day be picking out her own clothes, telling me exactly what she thinks, making me laugh, testing my patience, and filling our days with a kind of love I had never known.

Today, she's three.

And one of those two tiny embryos is now a little girl with her own ideas, her own voice, and a whole world waiting for her.

This photo brings together two very different moments in our story. Those are my actual embryos, alongside a real photo of Mia and me at Garden of the Gods in Colorado, taken during our birthday trip this past summer. I touched up the colors with AI, but the moment itself is ours.

I'll never be able to fully explain the peace Colorado brings me. That place held me so tightly during a time when I was battling, in every sense of the word, to become this little girl's mother.

There were days when I needed somewhere to go just to breathe. Somewhere to feel a little peace when so much of my life felt uncertain. Colorado was that place for me.

And this summer, I got to stand there with her.

The little girl I had fought so hard to bring into this world was standing beside me in a place that had once helped me find the strength to keep going.

There's something about that I'll never quite have the words for.

October 14 will always mean something to me.

Because four years ago, I wasn't just hoping for a positive pregnancy test.

I was hoping for this life.

And here we are. 🩷

Somehow our Stevie girl is already TWO months old. 🥹💜

11 lbs 2 oz of pure personality, 22 inches long, and rocking a 97th percentile head because apparently she needs plenty of room for all those big brains. 😂🧠 Our petite little lady is growing absolutely perfectly and right on track, and watching her grow into this tiny little person has been the sweetest thing.

She’s been holding that big ol’ head up since literally the day she was born, and now she’s smiling at everyone, especially her aunties! 🥹She’s definitely starting to find her little voice with the sweetest baby coos and conversations.

Her current interests include cartoons, staring very seriously at anything happening around her, like her crazy puppy brothers and sisters and of course her favorite show of all time, The Curtains! 😂

At only two months old, her personality is already shining through more every day. I have a feeling we’re raising one fierce, sassy, strong little girl like her mama, with the biggest, softest heart just like her daddy. 💜

One month → two months.
Watching you grow is somehow the most beautiful and bittersweet thing, Stevie John. We waited so long for these little milestones, and I wish I could bottle up every single version of you along the way.

Happy two months to the little girl who made all of our dreams come true. We love you more than you’ll ever know. 🥹✨

Brooke gave the sweetest shoutout to our amazing team members Brandis Montez & Justine Taylor! ☺️✨ @brooke_a_hammell

Her words to those still on the journey is: "I wish I had been better prepared for how isolating infertility can feel. I also wish I hadn't let the uncertainty of each cycle keep me from being present with the people I love. I used to tell friends I couldn't make plans because I didn't know what my IVF cycle would look like. Eventually, I learned to say "I'll be there unless I'm in the middle of a cycle" — and that small shift made a big difference. People became more understanding, and I stopped missing out as much.

Having a support system really does help, even when it feels like no one around you can truly relate. Keep surrounding yourself with love and hope. During my two-week wait especially, I did everything I could to stay relaxed and feel happy — easier said than done, I know. But I colored, spent time with friends and family, cooked good food, did puzzles, watched movies, and bought myself a few new things. Whatever helped me feel a little better in the moment was worth it. And don't be afraid to make those "faith purchases" — buying a baby toy or outfit doesn't jinx anything. Think of it as a manifestation!"

The most special shoutout to CNY Fertility CO Springs, Denver & @brandiscourtney ☺️👋✨ Jennifers words for those still on the journey is: "I wish I could go back and tell myself after those failed transfers that it was all going to work out. Infertility treatment is such a profound sacrifice. For years, every decision we made, financial and physical, revolved around treatment. To anyone going through this: I see you. I was you.

Not every journey will end with a live birth, and I hold that truth with deep respect. But many of yours will. You need to hold onto that and keep going. Take breaks when you need them, lean on your support system, and seek one out if you don't have one. You are not alone. 🤍"

"Carson and I always knew we wanted children, so as our wedding approached, I met with my OB to start asking questions about my fertility. I was referred to another clinic for testing, where I received a diagnosis of tubal factor infertility. We learned that IVF would be our only path to conceiving, but my insurance only covered IUI, and the clinic where we'd been testing was simply out of reach financially. I searched everywhere for an affordable option and that's when I found CNY, and was lucky enough to live just an hour and a half from their Colorado Springs location.

We hit the ground running. We got married in December 2020 and did our egg retrieval in May 2021, ending up with four day-5 embryos. We sent them for PGT testing and were thrilled when all four came back euploid. That summer, I had a hysteroscopy and polypectomy to prepare. We transferred our first embryo in September 2021 and unfortunately, it failed. We tried again the following month, and that transfer also failed. After two losses, I needed an emotional break.

I took time off after our October transfer and made a plan to pursue further testing in the new year. In January 2022, I completed the Receptiva, Alice, and Emma tests which all came back normal. In March 2022, I transferred again, this time with Brandis. That transfer gave us our first daughter, Hallie.

We knew we wanted one more child, and we had one embryo left. We prepped the same way — hysteroscopy, polypectomy and transferred our last embryo in May 2025, again with Brandis. In January 2026, our final daughter, Tatum, was born. Both of our girls came from CNY transfers with the wonderful Brandis, and we are so grateful for her and the entire team in Denver and Colorado Springs. Our family is complete."

Dylan and I met in high-school at 15 and 17 years old. We got married in 2013 at 19 and 21. We tried to have a baby and we were unsuccessful. I did 8 rounds of clomid and timed intercourse and still nothing. We then were both diagnosed with infertility. We were part of a trial for double insemination IUI treatments. We did 3 rounds and still were unsuccessful. IVF was our only option to have a biological child. We then were offered a beautiful opportunity to adopt a newborn baby. The day the baby was born there were extenuating circumstances and we did not meet the baby nor get to adopt. We then decided to take a break from treatments and adoptions and become foster parents. In 2019 we had 11 children in and out of our home. Some were just for a night some were longer. At the end of 2019 we closed our license and stepped away for a while. I remember being at Walmart and opening a Facebook post from CNY Fertility that said, "To the many of you staring at the gifts piling up this week, but who in their heart only wish for the one thing not there, we see you, and we send out our love to you. May this be the last holiday you know this feeling." It was gut wrenching but yet it made me want it so much more. I did more research on IVF and wanted to go to CNY so badly. Unfortunately the closest full service clinic at the time would be New York or Florida. Coming from New Mexico it wasn't an option for us. So early 2020 came and we went to a clinic in Arizona and were all set to go when COVID hit. We couldn't travel over state lines so I figured it was a sign. Then another post was made by CNY in August 2020 they opened a location in Colorado Springs! So we scheduled our initial appointment with Dr. Magarelli. We did a zoom call and drove up for a procedure to see if there was anything near the uterus or anything that would prevent pregnancy. I had 2 cervical polyps. So I came home and had them removed by my gynecologist. Then I got sick with an autoimmune disease. Once again I thought this was a sign and we didn't need IVF. So in mid 2021 we signed up to foster again! While in that process we were presented with another opportunity to adopt a newborn baby.
