Brandon Tay goes heads up with Andy Mier 125lbs.

Brandon represents Jai Yen Muay Thai, who has been making a name for themselves lately. Standing across from him is Andy from the long established Metayo Muay Thai.

In this battle of strength vs experience, the one who can better execute the strategy should come out with the win. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

ឡក សេន - (1884-1979, lived to be 95 years old).

Lek Sen is a revered monk of Khmer Surin descent, specifically in Pailin & Battambang provinces where he served as bhikku at Wat Chheu Khmao & later as abbot at Wat Kang Kong.

He’s credited for bringing the unique Burmese style temple architecture to Northwestern Cambodia & here’s the story of how that came about.

Good morning everyone 🌞 - You guys asked for more helpful posts regarding imagery in the temple (ie. things we grew up around but are rarely or not always explained clearly), you got it.

Let’s start 2026 off right… who is ព្រះសិអារ្យមេត្រី (Preah Seiyarimmetri) & why do our elders say “ព្រះសិអារ្យមេត្រី គង់ជាព្រះជីវ៍ ព្រះប្រធានក្នុងវិហារ” (roughly, “Maitreya will lead all temples”, implied for the future).

Here’s a super simple read. Once you google his name though I promise it’ll lead you down a rabbit hole of Buddhist teachings etc.

PS. none of my writing uses AI or AI information. This is all from history books, the Khmer app “5000-Years” & other oral history I’ve jotted down over the years 🙌🏽

Happy reading Bong P’oun 📖

People, particularly men, tend to significantly overestimate their fighting ability. Studies suggest that men, on average, overestimate their fighting skills by a factor of 40, with some reports indicating an overestimation of up to 4000%. This overestimation is often linked to the Dunning-Kruger effect, where individuals with limited competence overestimate their abilities due to a lack of awareness of their own shortcomings.

Come train.

Thank you @anhfairtex for sharing your Muay Thai with us.

Today was a special day as we officially shared our name with all our students.

Jai Yen is not only our name but also how we strive to be. Cool heart. Calm under pressure.
