How long does it take to plan and implement a project like the Downtown Dig? 🚧 Complex streetscape and infrastructure projects like the Downtown Dig typically take 2 to 3 years to plan and 5 to 6 years to fully implement across all phases. Because this level of core reconstruction only happens once every 75 to 100 years, the timeline is divided into distinct, long-term stages to manage the massive scale of underground and above-ground changes. ⭐ The Planning Phase (2 to 3 Years) Before any construction machinery arrives on site, projects require extensive preparatory groundwork: ✔ Community Engagement (1–2 Years): The County of Brant initiated the master plan in 2017. Design workshops (charrettes) ran through 2018–2019 to gather public input on crucial layout changes. ✔ Engineering and Approvals (1 Year): After the initial council approval in late 2019, final engineering assessments, utility coordination, and contractor bidding processes were finalized. The global pandemic caused delay with this project. ⭐Tendering and Implementation (5 to 6 Years Total) To keep downtown accessible and local businesses supported, physical construction is broken into highly localized, multi-year phases. 📍 West River St (by Mechanic St) - Complete 📍 Grand River St N (Nith River Bridge to Mechanic St intersection) – Complete 📍 Grand River St N (Mechanic St to Charlotte St and the William St intersection) In-Progress ✔ Mechanic St- Pending ✔ Broadway St W - Pending ✔ William St - Pending This project includes replacement of critical infrastructure such as watermains, sewers, stormwater, roads, sidewalks, and the intersections. The end results will be stable services, enhanced accessibility and a place to shop, dine and explore for decades. Downtown Paris, Ontario was designed not just for today but for the next 75 years. Decisions made today are for our children and their children. To learn more visit brant.ca/DowntownDig

🏡 Think you need $50,000 saved before you can buy a home? Think again. 👀 One of the biggest things holding potential home buyers back is the belief that they simply don’t have enough money saved to get into the market. So I sat down with Mortgage Agent Steve Szabo to talk about how much money you really need to buy a home. And here’s something that might surprise you… 💰 We worked with a client who had just $5,000 in their RRSP, and a line of credit was part of the financing strategy that helped them move forward. Does that mean everyone can buy a home with $5,000? No. Every situation is different, and your down payment, closing costs, debts and mortgage qualification all matter. But here’s my point: Don’t count yourself out before you know your options. If buying a home is something you’ve been thinking about, but you’re not sure you have enough saved, let’s talk! 📲 Call or text me. I’ll help you explore your options and connect you with the right mortgage advice so you can understand what your next step could look like. 🏡 Joanne Acri | Sales Representative RE/MAX Twin City Realty Inc. 📞 226-208-1720 📧 jacri@remax.net Instagram: @joanne.acri.realtor 💰 Steve Szabo | Mortgage Agent Ontario Lending Solutions 📞 519-865-0435 📧 Steve.szabo@ontariolendingsolutions.com 👇 Be honest: Is saving enough for a down payment the biggest thing holding you back from buying a home?
